If they fire Sullivan, EJ needs to get one last chance behind the bench.

Not sure if serious... He’s 82.

It's going to be weird not seeing the Pens in the postseason this year.

No we're not. This is all a part of the Cup winning plan. Need to fire Sully ASAP though. A shame because I actually like him but it's clear it's time to vote for change

1.5 years left on Sullys contract, Quenville would presumably cost big money (for a coach anyway)...team needs to make second round to be financially viable from what I've read...no guarantee this year for sure and who knows about the next.. I dont know that I see that happening.

Q is a $2.5 to $5 million per year enterprise I would think...

Presumably, all that money went to Craig Patrick...

It was "no" three weeks ago from me. It has now been upgraded (downgraded) to "unclear" from me...which is not insignificant...

That Patrick hire is just.....weird. Being a scout involves a ton of travel, at his age that's gotta take a toll.

Not to go too deep on this nothing move, he could be a special assignment guy...he could be a pro guy that just hangs around his region...there's a lot of ways this can break...he may not be very involved at all, just getting a cheque...

An enema would be tough considering their heads are firmly planted there.

I don't think Sullivan is the problem, but I'm not convinced he is the solution either right now. So if you believe that window is still open, and I agree that it is, you now have the chance to snag a coach who just recently has led his team to three Stanley Cups. It's completely rational to think about a coaching change in the situation the Penguins are in.

Fire Therrien, Hire Byslma leads to 1 cup.
Fire Johnston. Hire Sullivan leads to 2 cups.
Fire Sullivan. Hire Quenneville leads to 3 cups?

When I heard the news on this my initial reaction that "Advanced Scout" in this context meant "pension plan." Some light consulting here at the home office and steady check.
