Bob might've flopped but Downie completely unnecessarily ran into him
this is why I still don't knwo if we should resign him or not. That was a tremendously dumb thing to do at that time of the game.

Yeah forecheck pressure is key in a game like this for two reasons...a) you don't want to deal with the cycle the other way, you'd almost rather challenge the Jackets on an even-man rush...b) they are pretty incapable at handling the puck with deftness or mobility on the back line...force mistakes at the proper pressure points and weaknesses...Prout can barely stand up on the rink, Goloubef is a greenhorn, we can make some in-roads there with dedication below the hash marks at both ends of the rink...

I think he was simply trying to navigate behind him. But, he's Downie.RottingCarcassOfJagr wrote:my god Downie that was moronic

At least they look somewhat organized on the PK. Why doesn't that carry over to other aspects of play? Coaching or personnel or both?

Dodged a check (or two other players engaged, don't remember) by jumping into the crease. Had no way of stopping (momentum's a *****) or moving out of the way of Bobrovsky. Bobrovsky felt it & went down like a soccer player.RottingCarcassOfJagr wrote:Bob might've flopped but Downie completely unnecessarily ran into him

Don't really mind that penalty much.

At this point it's not even about what he does it's that he's a call magnet. The team should send some film to the league office but that probably only get even more calls against us.Avyran wrote:Dodged a check (or two other players engaged, don't remember) by jumping into the crease. Constructive criticism isnt taken very well by the leagueNashvilleCat wrote:At this point it's not even about what he does it's that he's a call magnet. Adams never got the puck until the guy was off. That was a weak call.

I think of it as the Penguins' slow conquering of land from Washington & Philly.mikey wrote:Man, I hate that stupid map showing cable subscribers in some podunk village...
Also, I'm glad boarding isn't a penalty today (correct call on the TMM, though they normally don't call it...)).

I guess I can buy the too much man but where was the boarding on Comeau?

that penalty is even more disappointing because we all know Adams was going to score on that rush

Good kill.

Johnston has to be senile or completely unaware of what's going on on the ice to argue that call.

I agree with his arguing. *Shrug*cadams wrote:Johnston has to be senile or completely unaware of what's going on on the ice to argue that call.

Was he arguing the too many men? If so, maybe he's just had enough of the general hosing his team is getting.cadams wrote:Johnston has to be senile or completely unaware of what's going on on the ice to argue that call.

Yeah, there's at least an argument to be made at real speed...when I was watching it live, I thought the optics were bad but the change was actually good...I actually got rung up for that exact same too many men penalty two weekends ago, exact same looking rush...Avyran wrote:I agree with his arguing. *Shrug*cadams wrote:Johnston has to be senile or completely unaware of what's going on on the ice to argue that call.
