You're not welcome hereI still really want one but with all the stuff I'm doing this spring I just don't want to drop $350 on a shirt I'll wear once a year, maybe. Maybe I'll drop in to Murrysville one afternoon and impulse it.

Nice to see the Pens go from hemorrhaging goals to only allowing three in three games.

8 points to go. Might possibly get this week... would be nice to see him get there before the all star break.

shmeguin mentioned it in the GDT, but how the hell much is Sheary going to cost to re-sign? Going into the season I was worried about how much it would cost to re-sign Dumo. Mediocrity and injury has tempered those fears, but even if Sheary slows a bit (which is hard to do as long as he's on a line with Sid), were likely looking at a 25 goal, 55 point season.

3 years, $10 million.

Re-sign is easy. But he would be exposed to LV on the expansion draft I would think. (this being his 3rd pro season)

I thought I read that he was exempt.

Sheary's tied for most even strength points at LW with Saad. Ahead of Ovechkin and Benn, just to name a couple. Crazy.

He's exempt. 2nd pro season, wasn't under in NHL deal three seasons ago.

So Pro season doesn't mean pro season then? played full season at WBS in 14-15. Seems very strange and quirky these rules then! He's exempt. 2nd pro season, wasn't under in NHL deal three seasons ago.

"Pro" historically represents "playing pro under an NHL contract" for the relatively small number of relevant players in the world that play in the AHL and don't have an NHL contract, I doubt this was worth the NHL putting forth. Sheary's AHL-only deal saves us big time...So Pro season doesn't mean pro season then? played full season at WBS in 14-15. Was it Shero or GMJR, who signed Sheary?

We have 8 GMs, and Sheary first came over out of college on an ATO, then got an AHL deal. So if I had to guess, and hopefully someone will correct me (or ask Bombulie, who would probably know), I'm thinking this was a Botterill -> Rutherford production...
Even though, small American NCAA forward has Shero's prints all over it, I'm not so sure about this one...this one actually worked out...![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

It seems that he played for WBS in Spring of 2014...so, yes, a Shero Special.

Well, that's where I'm not sure. For AHL only moves, you don't always get the NHL GM involved...particularly with ATOs. In most organizations, the assistant GM cuts his teeth a little by being the GM of the AHL club. My understanding, is that Botterill was running the AHL team at this time. There are AHL trades that take place, there are signings that are two-way (AHL/ECHL), there are these 25-game ATOs that can be offered out, they have their own resources because an NHL team doesn't fill that entire roster, particularly now where the NHL:AHL ratio has reached parity for the first time in some time (ever?).
So, I almost wonder...and I don't mean to go out on this limb to discredit Shero - as I think he did really great work here - but Botterill got him on an AHL ATO, signed him to an AHL deal and then Rutherford got him under an NHL contract (with Botterill having a major say being the "associate GM" under Rutherford, but not Shero, IIRC). It's very plausible that that was done with little input from Shero, as it happens often in the AHL, particularly because of wonky scheduling and travel issues...plus, looser roster rules with regard to tryout players playing and how long they can play for...
I'll take a breath now...

Daniel Sprong started the season with 4 G, 5A in 8 GMS. Sounds good, but he should probably dominate at that level anyway.

Yes. And Charlottetown is 6-1-1 in those games, including winning their last 5. Sprong should star at this level.Daniel Sprong started the season with 4 G, 5A in 8 GMS. Sounds good, but he should probably dominate at that level anyway.
