Rob could, you know, console himself with his two Stanley Cups. It's not like he's getting pushed out of the league without achieving anything.
He's not even the worst defenseman on the team!

I find this absolutely horrifying.

"The Penguins have selected a new victory song for this season, one they play after every victory in the locker room. They’re going with the Biebs. Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” is their selection for this season. Here’s the official video, if you’re into that kind of thing. Although Bieber was bad luck for the Steelers last season — he visited their team hotel the night before a loss against the Jets in New York — let’s keep in mind that he is Canadian, so the Penguins from north of the border probably feel a connection with him.

Said Jeff Zatkoff: “Respect the Bieber.”

Every team has something like this. I coach college hockey and my guys play that Maxine Nightingale song..."Where We Started From" or whatever its title is...

Granted that's not Bieber, but still, this kind of thing happens...

Oh, how the musical tastes of the backup goalie have fallen from Brent Johnson to Zatkoff...

Didn't Johnson have Zeppelin on his helmet?

I think so. I thought I also remember him being very into hard rock generally and keeping that on the sound system in the locker room.

Yeah, but that song's awesome, so I don't really see the correlation.

When I played soccer in college, there were a bunch of English guys on the team, and some were really hard-nosed, tough dudes. But, they always insisted on playing the Spice Girls and whatever other horrible Brit pop was around in the late 90s-early 00s in the locker room before and after games. I couldn't believe anybody would get pumped to play listening to that or see it as a good way to celebrate post-game.

I remember in high school playing tennis, and guys were listening to En Vogue to get pumped up. Maybe it was the attractive females of the group or something. I dunno. As mikey says, you get all kinds I guess.

the last hockey travel team I played on...I think I was 11 or so...my teammates would always play "Who Let the Dogs Out". I got dogpiled on when I said the song was crap.

other than that, no other teams I was on played any music in the lockerrooms before or after. Up until rugby where we'd sing rugby songs on the bus because this is what all rugby squads do.

That song is played during one of of the bus trip scenes in "Slapshot". So it's very appropriate. And a good song.
