Wow, that amazing sequence in the eagles-Cowboys game just won me that 250. The Williams-Matthews TD combo moves their total from 10 points to 40 points in the last five minutes.

I lost big in the $20 Draftkings league mostly thanks to Hyde's injury/inability to run today and Palmer not putting up a ton of yards in the air.

However, I made it back thanks to a "free" $3 entry that I got for signing up today. Played MLB afternoon, finished 8th out of 384, made $25.

Hyde was a bad play. Had to see that game flow wasn't going to be in his favor (short week, cross country travel). And also he was played by like 30% of people on draft kings. I had him in the original lineup I made, but I revisited it cause I wanted to put Deangelo in it. I also had Antonio Brown in my original lineup, I should have figured out a way to keep him in. I scored 207 points this week with this lineup.

Palmer
Ingram
Deangelo Williams
Fitz
Jordan Matthews
Terrance Williams
Torrey Smith
Gronk
Redskins D

Fitz was huge and not in that top tier anymore, not surprised you put up big points.

I'm officially done with DFS. They got my $25. The ratio of winners/losers in a slate is just too slim, and with such subtle difference in lineup it's just too hard to jostle my way up there. I'm not a good enough FF player to keep pumping money into it, especially after reading about the guys that do it as full time job. If there are 2000 spots that pay and some guy has 680 entries? Yeah, not for me.

Some colleges have e-gaming programs now. It doesn't seem completely out of left field, especially with DK trying to win the hearts and minds of every 18-34 male.

I'm at 105 with 3 players remaining in the mon/thur football. Could be a pretty good night for me tonight.

The guy that leads all Rams WRs in targets on the team and leads the team in rushing...what could go wrong? Right?

one of their pass catchers is going to have a good game, and he's going to be cheap.

Seems easier to just save at QB and go with Foles. The problem is it could also be Jared Cook that has a good game, but it's hard to justify stacking him with the other affordble TE options that seem much more certain to return your investment.

If you are looking for a cheap WR for tournament play, I think Allen Hurns makes a good bit of sense.

For those that have had some success in tournament games, how frequently are you leaving some money in your wallet when building teams?

I've only played real low stakes games on draft kings. But here's my overall impression, if you identify the right big money players for the week, you'll likely win any small 5 person game. I think the problem people get into when the choose brandin cooks over julio jones so that they can also squeeze in a $6K running back as opposed to a $4200 running back.

The key is to find the up and coming rb that never costs a ton. I rode forsett all year last year. Im looking at david johnson right now. My rbs this week were him and sadly matt jones.

Yeah, I feel much more comfortable about my ability to succeed in cash games than tournaments right now.

I agree, running backs don't seem worth investing in right now, though for tournament play, it may be getting to the point where you are actually going against the grain with having two stud RBs? There seem like a few really attractive WR options this week that are not necessarily big money guys.

My RBs combos in my games are:

Yeldon + Gurley
Yeldon + Mathews (assuming Murray is out)
Bell + McCoy (see above comment)

I go for two stud RBs because RBs are volume plays. So many RBs anymore play X% of snaps or only handle X% of touches. I'll skimp on WRs because they have a much easier time of blowing up because of snap counts I feel like...

One of my teams this week is probably gonna be:
Cam
AP
JC
John Brown
Allen Robinson
Donte Moncrief
Olsen
Dan Bailey
Carolina

Then I'll probably make another one with the Brady/Gronk combo, and as a result, skimp on RBs a little bit...we'll see how it goes I guess...

Through trial and error i just found there is way more success hoping for a big outcome from a home run rb and the sure thing wr like brown. Obviously all that matters is hitting on a few playmakers, it just seems to work better with the big wrs.

So I have four teams today...with four different philosophies basically...

RB-heavy, WR-heavy, a mix of the two, and then a QB-light/target heavy/Vegas driven team...I'll report results. Three of them are 1pm only jobs, so I'll know soon enough...

I have 7 teams and 7 different lineups today. I have Yeldon, Marshall, and Allen Robinson in 6/7 lineups. Brady/Gronk stack in 3/7. This NE vs. JAX game means a lot to me.
