I dont think its worth playing daily fantasy in anything but football or maybe basketball. Scoring is completely volatile in baseball and hockey.

I've never looked at those sports, do they do weekly leagues? If your doing daily hockey or baseball, you should probably just bet on individual games.

3-0 in hockey with my roster last night. Won a 10 man league, 5th in a 50 man 50/50, and in the money on the scratch off tourny.

Fan Duel is so much better than DK for hockey.

Went 3-1 tonight. Ended up in a 10-man with two teams that stacked the Turris line and another with Niemi, so that accounts for the loss. Threw a late game-only roster together at the last minute and got saved by my lehtera-fabbri stack on what was an otherwise uninspiring lineup.

3-1 again tonight. Think I'm going to ramp it up in a 8 pm and later game tomorrow.

I withdrew all but 5 and then entered a $5 match and then also a $5 match with points i had accumulated. If i win, ill keep going with that money, if i lose ill be done with it for a while.

Went 0-3 on Saturday night with the big slate of games--don't like that.

Came back strong today going 4-1. Had Giroux and/or Sedin done anything at all tonight, I would have had a really nice day. As it is, finished 15/383 in a $3 tourny. 13-6 overall. Not feeling great about the games tomorrow. I really like the slower nights or the late game slates that give you 5 games. That seems to be about the size of schedule I've done best on.

I should've come away with some wins this week.

I had ~150 points from: Rivers, Forsett, Lewis, Beckham, Edelman, & J. Jones, but then a total of 4 points from Clay, Hillman and Lions D.

Clay was a bad call. I originally had Woodhead and Julio in, but saw that Jones was dealing with an injury so switched to Beckham and Hillman. That overall was a win, but Woodhead was cheaper than Hillman and has a much higher floor in PPR leagues.

Strong week, will give me some cash to play with the rest of the year. I had Hopkins, Freeman and Ivory, then some pretty weak play, but I only played in small leagues so that was enough to win all of those.

Nice work. Do you spend a lot of time on DFS or is it just something you do using the information you gather from traditional fantasy?

The latter.

I don't bother with the big money games, I assume that's where the pro people hang out...a lot of WSOP similarities there. But you can easily build up a decent bankroll playing 8-10 small leagues a week. The people in the 5-10 player leagues aren't running algorithms or playing a lot of lineups.

Interesting. Thanks. When I did used to play poker I played a lot of head to head, but never tried with DFS. But in poker I also did well in the big tournaments, so I didn't play the middle stuff. That's probably why I overlooked it. Smart man.

Well...It's mostly just a way to play a bunch of games all year with like $20. The idea being that I can accrue some cash and play some $20 games at the end of the year and hopefully walk away with a hundred or two.

I suck at football. I've been doing very well in hockey, though. I'm 13-1 in 50/50s in hockey, and somewhere around 25-10 overall.

On Friday night this past week, I was 23/5750 on DK after the 1st period of the Coyotes Bruins game. I had two more periods of Smith and OEL and only 6 teams ahead of me had anyone in play. Unfortunately the Yotes started letting in goals left and right, and I fell all the way to 60th. Still got 8x my entry on the night, but man, that was one where in a not-too-distant parallel universe I landed in 1st place.

Should have 1st place in 6/7 entries this week, just need Fitzgerald to get 5 points to overtake a1st place team with no players left in two leagues.

Unfortunately the 7th game is a winner take all five player league and I'm second. First place guy had Evans/Gurley/Nate Washington and still has two players left tonight.

The Texans garbage time points going to Washington instead of Hopkins being the difference in that matchup. I'm pretty sure that everyone had Gurley in their lineup this week, such an obvious play. I have 183 points with Fitzgerald left, with the majority of the points coming from Miller, Gurley, Rivers and Rams D.

I won my 50/50s and a 3-man league. I could have had a really big day if not let down by my receivers--I had Gurley/Martin/Ingram, but Hopkins and Marshall let me down. I have Steve Smith going tonight, so we'll see if he can get me into the money in my tournament plays.

What are the 50/50's?

Finish in the top 50% and get double minus the rake (180% of entry). I prefer Fan Duel 50/50s for some reason.

I see, you have to put in a lot of money for that to be worth it though.

Eh, I think it's proportionate. Yes, if you want the cash line at 50% you need to put more at risk. I view it as a way to cover my tournament entry fees. In hockey, I'm batting around .900 in 50/50s. Saturdays give me a little trouble because there are so many games, but on most nights with 4-8 games, I do well. So, do a couple 50/50s and if I win there I can pay for tournament entries.

The one time I don't go into tournament play, I had a pretty good look at a team that would have hit for probably at least 4x money...

Rivers
L.Bell
Gurley
B.Cooks
K.Allen
M.Crabtree
D.Walker
J.Brown (K)
St. Louis

Not a lot of homeruns hit...but a lot of doubles...finished 14th out of 100...

I fiddled with my lineups too much last night, and it cost me. Despite consistently going with Luongo when setting my teams in the morning, I talked myself into switching out to Mason in a couple leagues. My skater combos were on point. I won $14 on $5 in entries, but I would've had $40-$50 if I had just left things alone.

I just started doing Fanduel within the past few weeks. I've been googling previews/tips each week reading whatever I can find.
I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions on the best articles/authors/websites to prep for each week.
