Pitts, you're Len, right? You are now commissioner :-). You can assign that status to Craig or you can assign co-commissioner status, too.

Anyone have a goalie on the block? Here is my list of legitimate keeper-quality players, and obviously I cannot keep all of them. Sidney Crosby Nikita Kucherov PK Subban Henrik Sedin Daniel Sedin Steve Mason Blake Wheeler Cam Ward Dustin Byfuglien Mike Green Jimmy Howard Patric Hornqvist TJ Oshie Ty...

Anyone think the Pens will need to upgrade from Zatkoff to make a serious run?
No. With any backup in the net we cannot make a serious run.

$750MM or $750M; either way, owners looking to cash in on Pens

It still doesn't make sense as to why you would compare NBA and NHL, but whatever. Because it's an easy comparison to make I could compare my salary to my CEO's salary if I had his paystub in front of me, but it still wouldn't make a lot of sense in determining whether I was over-valued or under-va...

Las Vegas and Quebec City Move to Phase II of Expansion Process

Tanner Glass is pumping his fist because he knows this'll extend his NHL career This is an important point. Fewer stars per team creates worse hockey. Think about the NFL. Expanding two more teams in that league would guarantee a poorer product simply because there would be two crappier QBs in star...

Since Craig cannot run the draft thread, I'll let him email me picks so I can reference his team in a disparaging way every round like he did to me in the FF league. :thumb:

I'm more than comfortable with saying we're the better team.
Yes, totally. There's a big difference between a team that is playing at 105% ability and a team that is playing at 80% ability when both are achieving similar results. The 80% team is always the better team in that situation.

I don't think our defense is as bad as people are saying. this is how I see our d right now: Letang - #1 d-man Maatta - somehow an unknown. If he is healthy, I'd peg him as a #3 Pouliot - a 4-5 guy Cole - 3-5 guy Lovejoy - 5-6 guy Clendening - 5-6 guy (?) Scuderi - true #1 nacho tasting d-man ok, s...

KESSEL TO PIT FOR HARRINGTON, KAPANEN, AND A PICK

For five years, right Hammer? We have Kessel for five more. So in terms of cap dollars saved: Year 1: 3.85+3.375 ($7.225) vs. $1.2 (+ $2.2 mil? Spaling) Year 2: 3.85+3.375 ($7.225) vs. $1.2 Year 3: 0 vs. $1.2 Year 4: 0 vs. $1.2 Year 5: 0 vs. $1.2 Year 6: 0 vs. $1.2 Year 7: 0 vs. $1.2 Total: $14.45 ...

KESSEL TO PIT FOR HARRINGTON, KAPANEN, AND A PICK

Did we ever get this confirmed...? If not... The deal was worked on at the draft. But given Kessel was due a $4-million bonus July 1, it was decided to hold off so deep-pocketed Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment could pay that. The Leafs were also forced to retain $1.2 million annually of Kessel...

I think people are inappropriately writing Kunitz off. He is very capable of a solid 15-goal season with good possession numbers.

I think I posted this in the wrong thread. Any one want to take over as commish? I cannot do it anymore, and, frankly, Pitts, Craig, and (someone else) have basically been running the league the last few years. I'll transfer ownership through Yahoo! when the league pops back up. Also, my team is oll...

If Perron is regularly playing on the third line, something has gone very wrong.
Or very well.
Yeah, like Kunitz returning to Team Canada form and Plotnikov playing better than Perron.

Throwing a ball through a fixed box in space is a measurable action. Grabbing a jersey is completely different and is a silly comparison. Doubling down on it is even worse. I'm all for getting refs off the field in football as well, but it's not the same thing. A better comparison would be goal lin...

The best argument against automation, which was actually told to me by a federal judge, was that official outrage is part of what makes the game fun. Losers lament their team played just fine; the officials screwed them, even if that is untrue. With a judgment call on every play, baseball has the mo...

Totally subjective. But my engagement ring was more. Like almost .66:1 honeymoon to engagement. My engagement ring was expensive though (as will the honeymoon).
