Last crusade was good. 3rd favorite of the 3 for me.
Unpopular opinion: Crystal Skull is pretty enjoyable up until they get to the jungle.

COVID-19

It's the same for every death at the moment. A guy I went to school with died unexpectedly and unrelated to COVID. I wasn't close with him but I'm friends with those who were. His family can't even have a funeral for him right now.

Wow. I guess it's easier to lift the order rather than to continuing to extend the order every few weeks.

https://covidtracking.com/us-daily/ Also, where are we seeing that testing is going up? Looks basically flat at 100K per day. What I find encouraging in that link is that despite testing being limited to only those showing severe symptom, the positivity rate is hovering around 15-16%. For only test...

COVID-19

There was some head of some health organization from PA on the news last night essentially saying that in PA they aren't continuing to test more, especially for non-severe cases. She said pretty much: "if you have the symptoms of COVID-19, just assume that it's COVID-19. Don't go get tested, stay h...

I'm totally fine with keeping restrictions in place longer than actually needed out of an abundance of caution. Although, I'm getting married on June 27th so it'd be nice to know if that is going to happen or not.

According to these projections, PA is looking pretty solid as far as resources go.

COVID-19

Allegheny County Update: Now at 290 cases, +25 from yesterday's report. It's the second day in a row of decreasing cases. +61 on Saturday, +46 on Sunday, +25 today. Too early to call it a trend and without testing numbers it's hard to really tell much. But I'll take it as good news.

Yeah the only purpose I can think of for these projections is to try to get the attention of people who are somehow still not taking this seriously.

Source of the post - Campaign Manager - hates his life
I felt so bad for this dude. He seemed like a nerdy kid who was interested in politics, got in over his head with this weird group of people, and ended up being witness to an incredibly traumatic event.

First immediate family member has it - mild symptoms and they have been WFH for a whole so only their roommate is at risk. but still - I keep waiting for news of my older family members and the worry there.
Were they tested?

Did you self-isolate inside the house? I keep reading stuff about how the sick one should basically be locked into their own room, only coming out to use their own bathroom. With everything being wiped down after they use it.

Good news: My symptoms have abated, and we got some new TP.

Bad news: I apparently have a topical allergy to the soap I stocked up on, and my wrists and hands look like cooked lobster shells.
:thumb: Great news. How's the wife?

That's also a worst case scenario that is absolutely plausible without any sort of intervention. Luckily, we're intervening.

No. These assume no slowdown due to weather, since the experts say that we cannot count on that. This is something that confuses me. Viruses live and multiply quite fruitfully in your 98.6° body. Is there another factor related to the warmer months that make for seasonal changes in transmission? In...

Wasn't there an article/Tweet posted recently that said we're still like 2 months from all hell breaking loose in this country in terms of hospitalizations and such?
Every projection I've seen has said we're 10-15 days behind Italy.

I don't think anybody here has put up the mission accomplished banner. We've seen a lot of doom and gloom and worst case scenario projections. If we're not on pace to meet those projections, that's great news and it means the restrictions are actually helping. But nobody here thinks it's time to res...

I saw Cuomo's calls for hospitals to increase capacity. Need a total of 140,000 beds - currently have 53,000. Needs a total of 40,000 ICU beds. Currently have 3,000. Wouldn't it be easier to transport these patients elsewhere in the state?
