Investing, Stock Market and Retirement Planning Thread

The only time you cash out retirement is to avoid bankruptcy. Short of that, don't touch retirement. Stop retirement contributions, sell things, find ways to increase income. 450k federal loans...is she a doctor?? Typo -- $45k. She's between $105k and $110k in total college debt. She's an OT. Been ...

Investing, Stock Market and Retirement Planning Thread

I'm looking for some advice here... My wife is in over her head with college loan debt -- around $60k in private loans. Not worried about the federal stuff, as her interest is low and has the possibility for relief. We also have around $7k in credit card debt. My 403B has $112k, and I'm 38. We're s...

Handball is the sport for people that are really good at the part of basketball that doesn't involve scoring. Parts like dribbling, quickness, jumping, defense, etc. They give you a much bigger "basket" in handball to make up for your atrocious shooting abilities. Handball was one of the electives I...

950449 F the plumber that installed this. Lol. This. That said, would you not be able to just grab some 45s or 90s at HD and shift that vent over just a bit? Seems like that would be the easiest solution. Double 90s did the trick. HD sells short run 90s that allowed me to do it. Crisis averted

6AM on a Sunday? You'll most likely be OK for 5AM arrival- 4:30 is guaranteed safe EDIT: Economy lot? You may be waiting for a bus for up to 15 minutes - take that into account as well I picked someone up from PIT last week and saw where that lot was. Didn't seem like too long of a walk. There isn'...

Maybe, just maybe it would work. Problem is, the 90 now going sideways may still be too tall. I'll measure the elbows when I get home today to see if it's feasible. It's going to be a pita sawing the old pipe off - hardly any room in there. I got a pipe cutter at work that should be able to fit arou...

No, the valve isn't installed on the P trap. The drain goes into a disposal, into the P trap, and into the wall. Inside the wall there's a tee - one side draining down and the upside for the vent. The piping on the upside of the tee 90's back out of the wall and under the sink and 90's back up into...

No, it's a space thing. The new faucet has probably 6" of threads that go through the countertop and below. Countertop is only around 1.5" thick so the threads go about 4.5" below the counter. Directly below the new faucet hole there's one of those air admittance/Studor valves. The top of the valve ...

Aging sucks, man. I am definitely not as active as I used to be. There's always been some sort of back discomfort, but not until 5 or so years ago while playing hockey did I really aggravate my back and throw it out of alignment. Now it's something that happens all too often. It's been *knock on woo...

Look into some strengthening exercises too. I have the hip misalignment problem all the time and it's due to a weak core. Mine is more a rotational alignment issue. One leg will appear longer than the other when it's out.
