All Things Guns & Ammo

Managed to order a couple boxes of bullets for a pre-WWII S&W Military & Police Model of 1905, 4th Change, chambered in .38 S&W (not .38 Special). The S&W is a way older cartridge that despite the close name is not related to the .38 Special and uses its own unique diameter of bullets (0.361). Bough...

OK since no one can give an answer beyond the stock "hicks are stupid" I crunched some numbers. We need 7 million Pennsylvanians (give or take) to get to 70%. There are 67 counties. Biden won 13 counties in PA. Based on my rough estimate, there are 5.5 million adults in these counties. He won 13 of...

I always tell shops to tighten mine to spec so I don't get stuck with a flat I can't take off.
I only used the impact wrench to take the nuts off. I put them back on by hand and used my torque wrench to tighten to spec.

Totally effortless. Put the jack in place, insert the driver into the socket, and brrrrrrrrt, the car is up in the air. I still need to get the new tires mounted that I bought more than a year ago. I'm thinking I should get the TPMS sensors replaced at the same time. While they're still working fine...

Picked up a corded impact driver and an impact adapter for the scissors jack I use for my car. Cut the time it takes me to swap my wheels and tires by probably 2/3. Why the eff didn't I buy these years ago.

Mrs Tif just had a big video conference. She works in sales training, and there's a new product coming out where her company is teaming up with another pharma company on the launch. Call was populated with a couple dozen people from both companies up to VP level. During the call, one dude decided t...

I love how that article appears to be aghast that they were armed. Considering the patron looks to be holding an NAA Mini-Revolver, I kinda feel like "armed" should be in quotes here. Yeah, that technically is a gun, sorta, I guess. I'd definitely recommend he carry something that offers more than ...

I think you, pfidc, can worship god freely and Shyster can worship his gun rack or sumo wrestler thong collection or whatever. Random trivia: The loincloths worn by sumo wrestlers (called mawashi ) are never washed. They just brush off any sand and hang them up to air out. When they eventually get ...

It’s me dogging church goers, if anyone. Religion is there. You can worship wherever. If you think that you need to be inside a building and doing it with friends I have no respect for that position. So you don't have any respect for either the First Amendment or the Second Amendment. You cool with...

What are some of yinz guys favorite toilet mobile games? The only one I've been playing for a long term is Plants v. Zombies 2. I finished all of the main quests years ago, but the arena and daily levels are still interesting, and even though the game is years old they're still adding new plants and...

Gardening/Maintenance Thread

I read an article once describing how our ancestors (and recent ancestors at that) would think that we're all nuts with the perpetual war on dandelions because every part of the plant is edible, and it has been consumed by humans since prehistorical times. It's also one of the first plants that spro...

I think I mentioned it already, but if anyone likes Thai, try out Royal Myanmar, which is in West View. Burmese/Myanmarese food is similar to Thai and nearby cuisines, but with its own twist. I really like the crispy chickpea tofu.

I'm saddened and angered by the death of sumo wrestler Hibikiryu (real name Amano Mitsuki). Hibikiryu was a lower-ranked wrestler who suffered a spinal injury in the March tournament when he landed head-first on the dohyo after a throw. He laid there, face down, for over four minutes before anyone c...

My toaster oven is second only to the microwave in terms of kitchen-appliance use. If what I want to cook will physically fit inside, then I prefer using it over the regular oven.
