I've used the squeeze bottle one before. It seemed to work pretty well. I've never used the teapot looking one.

I've been trying to run (on purpose) for the first time since high school football conditioning. I've been at it for 3 weeks, minus most of one week with a bad back. But the last two days I've run long enough for my Fitbit to detect that I'm running and not walking. Progress!
It's weird, but I look forward to doing it every morning. I don't know if it's the endorphins, getting my steps out of the way for the day, or the good audiobook I'm listening to, but it's great.
But nearing my target weight, the actual weight loss has nearly stopped...which has been frustrating. The weird thing is my clothes are looser, and I've needed to go up another notch on my belt, but I've put on .5 or 1 lb. It's driving me crazy, and I know some of that is muscle or water weight....but other than a couple of hot dogs and 1/3 of a Dole Whip at Disneyland, I haven't had any refined sugar, fruit, rice, pasta, bread since April.

Plateaus suck, but they happen. I've hit one or two along the way. Just have to trust the process and keep plugging away. I had a day where I ate alot of pasta, and I was up 2-3 lbs for the next 3 days...then all that came off plus another lb on top of it. Yesterday though I made myself a big double decker burger (lean meat) and we had custard for desert last night...and I was down .4 lbs today. The body is just weird sometimes. As long as your trending line keeps going down don't sweat the day here or there where things go up. Plus the scale doesn't always tell the story when you are that close. The fact that your clothes are fitting looser etc shows your body is still going in the direction you want it to.
On the running thing....I am the same way. I have been in a 5k training program for the last 5 weeks, and this week is my last week. Having a structured running program has been great. I know what days I have to run, and on my off days I take it easy (maybe just do a walk, or a jog/hike)...because I've learned I have to take recovery days. I get the endorphin feeling. I did a pretty hard 45 minute run yesterday and even though I was tired after I finished and did my cool down run and stretch...I still felt like I could have ran more and I wanted to run more after that. Told myself that wasn't a good idea and just went on a walk later on in the day.
My actual 5k run isn't till Thanksgiving so now the tough part is going to be just keeping that structure for the next 4 weeks or so. Having structure helps me alot just keeping to doing consistent running/working out.

Hmm, I may need to look into a Turkey Trot as a goal.

Ran a sub 9:30 mile today over 20 minutes. Ran like 2.15 miles in 20 minutes which included a warmup at the start. 2nd mile was actually 8:30ish. Definitely feeling a sub 30 minute 5k time is within reach.
I also went and got fitted for a legit pair of running shoes and those made a big difference running today.

FInished up my 5k program today on Peloton. Had a 10 minute warmup run then a 45 minute 5k run with a rolling start depending on what you wanted to try to finish with pace wise.
I ended up averaging under 9:45/mile even with a 7 minute warmup on the 45 minute run that I jogged. Ended up running 4.63 miles overall in the 45 minutes, my actual 5k time taking out the warmup was just under 28 minutes. Not to shabby.
Miles 2/3/4 after the warmup I average 9:18/9:24/9:22 on those 3 miles. Felt good overall. Just need to keep up my pace training to get me to Thanksgiving.

I think so. I'd still like to run outside at least once before Thanksgiving to get an outside running feel and see how that goes. With that said...I think the 5k program and how it was structured really helped me ease into it all over 6 weeks. It progressively ramped up, but I definitely felt the running getting easier as the program progressed.
I'll probably start the 10k program after thanksgiving and work my way up from there. I'd like to do a half marathon next year possibly but that is a while away. 5k first, then 10k...then go from there.

Any heads here good with workout building/exercise replacements?
Had to drop personal training to save some cash but am maintaining membership. The below is a 4 week program I wrote up before starting tonight:

Anything I might be missing/could swap in?

Last training run before the Turkey Trot on Thursday.
Did a 5k in 25:14 (well technically 3.13 miles). Around an 8:04 min/mi. Not sure if I will be able to replicate that on Thursday in the rain and with more incline, but pretty happy with where I am at for now
We shall see how Thursday goes.

Good luck to you, that rain looks unpleasant.

Yeah I would rather it snow to be honest. Running in the rain sucks.

Turkey Trot done and dusted. Not the best running condition with rain and it being cold but we powered through.
I ended up averaging an 8:41/mile. I’ll take it for my first 5k in like 5 years.
My wife was ahead of her pace target too. Super happy for her.

I stopped regularly going to the gym when my kid was born. I enjoyed lifting, but didn’t like the environment. I’m not a super social person and loud clanking drove me nuts. I would usually wear headphones due to it, but prefer not to.
I started thinking about starting a gym routine back up, but for me it’s a “when??”. Leaving my house to go to a gym before sunrise is less than appealing, and then after work I’m making dinner, taking the kid to wrestling, doing chores, and then by the time the kid is in bed, the sun is set and once again, I don’t want to leave the house.
All that to say, I bought a home gym system on Black Friday sale. The speediance gym monster. Of all the all in one smart ish home gyms, it was the most appealing option. 220 lbs of resistance should be fine for most things except maybe deadlift (an exercise I didn’t do during my last routine anyways).
I’m pretty excited by it. Hope I’m not let down… and hope I don’t let myself down.

So I am basically where I want to be weight wise now. 180-183ish. My problem is I don't know how to transition into maintenance. I've really gotten this runners high recently and all I want to do is run...and run more.
Now I don't run super hard every single day, but doing 3ish miles in the morning and another 1 1/2 mid day then doing our normal walk at night is not out of the norm. (some days I do more than this)
I don't know how to slow myself down to not overtrain myself. I'm sitting here right now at work during a lull and I've already showered, but all my mind wants to do is go run some more. If I keep doing what I'm doing I'm just going to keep dropping weight...and I really don't need to now.
I've started to slowly incorporate weight training again, nothing crazy. Some core classes, some light weights here and there. Also have been trying to do Yoga to help my joints etc. My wife says I have a sickness haha.

I can't understand running more than one time a day. I don't even do cardio on back to back days if I can help it.

I feel the same way about weights haha. I want to do it more, but it doesn't appeal to me. I get some sort of endorphins or high after I do a run...that makes me want to do another run right afterwards.
I think I mentioned this but I did the Turkey Trot, then came home and ran 3 more miles on the treadmill shortly afterwards. I'm not sure why I am this way, but yeah haha.

When I get into 'manic' states like that I just try and ride it until I see something shiny and get distracted. Same thing happens with my gaming collection, every so often I got into overdrive with it and I buy a bunch of stuff. I don't get mad because I know it'll go away and I won't buy anything for months.
