Unbeknownst to me, I was assigned a project with the start and due date occurring while I was out for Christmas. So I check into my email and see all of this, along with an automated past due notice. Cool. And then this morning around 9:30, the project manager posts an update on the project, pinging me asking why my task is late. Solid start to the new year.

A project manager who is a moron. I'm shocked.nocera wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 10:30 am Unbeknownst to me, I was assigned a project with the start and due date occurring while I was out for Christmas. I spent the last 3 months of the year working on a project with tiered implementation. The final rollout was the first week of December. The whopping 10 days of data we were able to analyze before the holidays didn't align with executive expectations, causing a micromanaging shitstorm that has more than doubled the number of teams that incorrectly believe they now need to be involved. I informed the PM that decided to butt his head and take "lead" over cross-departmental reporting sessions that with my vacation schedule the next update would be 1/10 at the earliest, so of course they scheduled a meeting for tomorrow. I hope these people spend the entire hour waiting for me to show up.

I had a medical doctor - a man with like 12 years of additional schooling beyond high school - email me a question. I assume he starting typing the question in the email subject line, typed until he hit the character limit, clicked into the body of the email and continued, mid-sentence. Then signed the email, “thx dr smith”

To be fair, he paid all that tuition money to learn how to be a doctor, not type an email

Should've just dictated it to a nurse.

This happens a lot for non doctors too. I think in the health care field you reach a certain point where you just start composing emails in the subject linemeow wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:13 am I had a medical doctor - a man with like 12 years of additional schooling beyond high school - email me a question. Any recommendations on where one might be able to find a private room to take a non-work sanctioned video conference meeting during business hours that couldn’t be at home because said person has two little demon spawn at home during the same time

Nah, it's legit. Also, just walk into a hotel like you belong there, grab yourself a breakfast and just sit in a conference room...the odds of you getting asked anything are like 1 in 3...

Let them loose in the hotel, then pick them up. No harm, no foul.
