I get that. We basically alternate between new shows and rewatches. After finishing up a new watch, we tend to need a mental break, so we'll watch something we've seen before and therefore don't really have to give it our 100% attention. With Breaking Bad, though, I've been all in. I don't pick up my phone most episodes.I genuinely wish I was wired to enjoy rewatching stuff. The only thing I get enjoyment out of rewatching are sitcoms like Seinfeld, and some movies. We're up to season 3 in our Breaking Bad rewatch. This is only the second time I've seen it. It's basically perfect.
That said, we have so little time to watch TV nowadays that I will never get through the ones I *haven't* seen.

I finished Longmire. It was what I called "wallpaper" watching or as The New Yorker recently described as "Ambient Television" which is pretty apt. I'd put it on while working or doing other tasks.
It was a cool show if only for its setting. The AMC years were episodic and procedural, which I mentioned before. The Netflix years brought long arcs and darker tones. But the ending kind of erased much of that goodwill, forcing things that just don't actually make much sense. Overall I'm glad I watched it, but it wouldn't warrant a rewatch down the line, even as ambient TV.
FWIW, the 'ambient TV' descriptor was being applied to Emily in Paris in The New Yorker.

I think my wife is on her third watch it Emily in Paris as ambient TV. Nonsense show but Lily Collins is lovely.

Supposedly the French are highly annoyed by it. At least the entertainment writers that cover such things. My wife watches it from time to time, but has been tearing through Atypical the last month or so.

Apple TV+ has some real interface issues to work on. Like you can't search for shows/movies on the desktop version, no profiles for different users, and just generally poor UI.
I did get that error when watching Long Way Up on occasion, but it was just a temporary thing.
And heaven **** forbid Apple put native Chromecast streaming in an iOS or MacOS app. Have to use Chrome on my wife's Mac Air to watch on the TV. Like we're peasants or something.

It's unbelievably awful. I would google Ted Lasso as my means of getting into the show on Apple TV+.Apple TV+ has some real interface issues to work on. Like you can't search for shows/movies on the desktop version, no profiles for different users, and just generally poor UI.

Only a couple episodes in, but "Joe Pera Talks With You" has been utterly delightful and very funny. Short, 12-minute episodes, but still leisurely paced, very dry and understated humor for the most part. It starts like an educational show with a featured topic, but things eventually get sidetracked, and it all takes place in a small town so there's interactions with recurring townfolk as well. Hard to describe apart from that. Definitely recommend giving it a shot. It's avail on HBO Max and Hulu premium I believe.
Also watched the first episode of "Aunty Donna's Big O'l House of Fun," which is an Australian sketch show on Netflix. Only one episode in, but very promising. As far as Netflix original sketch is concerned, I was sad to see "Astronomy Club" did not get renewed for a second season. Both that and (based off the first ep) Aunty Donna have much stronger material than "I Think You Should Leave," which I believe has a second season coming out at some point.

Also enjoying The Shield. I have no idea which direction it’s all headed given what Michael Chiklis does in the show. The only thing I don’t like is the damn shaking credits, which says plenty about the show.

One of my beer league teammates was a writer/producer on The Shield. He once said it would be fun to have Mario Lemieux's talent and play in our league, which seriously undermined my opinion of the guy.

Just watched the first episode, and it was wonderful. Loved it.The Animaniacs reboot is good.
Rob Paulsen (Yakko, Pinky) was on Retro Replay Thursday and said Steven Spielberg personally attended every pitch meeting with each streaming service as they were ramping up and trying to find the right outlet. He was adamant that the original 4 primary actors reprise their roles, or else he wouldn't bother with the reboot. He wanted to maintain the integrity with OG fans. That's not so surprising, but what got me was that Hulu was the only service that was initially on board with that idea; everyone else wanted to recast the roles.
