Like the name, color scheme, sweaters, and the primary and secondary logos, but do wish there was something a bit more octopussy in there.

I think the light blue numbers on dark blue jersey looks off in the mockups but would need to see how it looks on the ice to figure out if I like them or am just 'meh' on them.

I hate powder blue.

What is dead may never die.
I do hope they have Game of Thrones nights, if that's still a thing when fans are allowed back into games.

They'll play great for 2 periods and then suddenly play like **** in the third because they're in a hurry to finish up and get to Star Wars night?DigitalGypsy66 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 1:18 pm What is dead may never die.

Gotta admit, I'm digging the design.

RELEASE THE KAREN KRAKEN
Not sure what ties the PNW area has to Scandinavian culture to make the connection, but I was hoping for something a bit more like Orcas, (maybe let people use their ORCA mass transit cards to get discounted tickets or something), although I gather that wasn't even one of the finalists under consideration. And the secondary logo looks more like an anchor than a spear/trident. But overall, I like it a lot, especially the use of the singular (Avalanche, Wild, Lightning), and the unique color palette.

Also, when I moved west - lo, these many years ago - I wanted west coast non-LA teams to follow just so I had sports in my own time zone. I picked the Seahawks and the Canucks, cos I love that part of the world. I am officially switching my non-allegiance from across the border to Puget Sound.
GO KRAKEN!!

I thought the secondary logo was supposed to be an anchor?

It's an anchor with the space needle in the top portion...it's pretty dope.
Also, re: Kraken and the PNW...how many penguins died making the Squirrel Hill Tunnel...?

Countless. What an insensitive comment

The Penguins' actual penguin died almost immediately. Sad.

I really thought Kraken was a joke option, and they would reveal something native to the area. It's like when Jurassic Park came out and everything was called raptors afterward. F*** jack sparrow.
Kaiser's thread of Seattle Hockey
Penguins aren't really a unique element of any particular cultural legnedarium, whereas the Kraken is. You wouldn't necessarily expect a pro sports team in, say, Flurida to call themselves the Loch Ness Monsters, and we probably aren't going to see the Fargo Hachikos any time soon.
