Shame, Perry Farrell was holding it together there for a while.

They are all old enough to know better. Evidently, Perry's had monitor issues where he can't hear himself sing and decided to take it out on the band for playing too loud.

I still don't buy this being the whole story. I'm not saying there weren't sound issues that night, but I think there was a deeper issue.
If your sound isn't right, you yell at the sound engineer. WTH was Dave supposed to do about it?

Perry’s been getting lost in songs and singing terribly for days leading up to the blowup. Same kind of stuff from 33 years ago regarding drug and alcohol use.

Perry Farrell has always struck me as kind like, the worst.
Small anecdote: He had a group in the mid-aughts called Satellite Party with Nuno Bettencourt. I went to maybe 3 or 4 of their shows around town during a six-month span. It was clear that the guy would get fed up with the attention Nuno got from the crowd. Nuno left the band (and took the drummer with him) over 'creative differences', but it was obvious from what I saw that Farrell didn't like being upstaged by a guitar player, and I always sort of intuited that the same vibe existed with Jane's and Navarro.

I thought they formed in the mid to late 90s and not the mid 2000s.

New West Records is a label that produces a number of artists I like, like Steve Earle, Nikki Lane, and 49 Winchester. They have a deal on Bandcamp called New West University where you pay $100 and then get a download of every album they release for a year, and I signed up for that. So I get whatever they release. A new debut artist they just released is Jana Mila. I think she's pretty good. A sample song:
One can listen to and/or buy the full album at https://janamila.bandcamp.com/album/chameleon
