This group of guys is on the whole very uninterested in playing this game. If there ever was a sign to give up on this season, now is the time. Let's suck for a while and start the next generation

Argh. I thought the contact from Thompson would be deemed enough to nullify the contact with Askarov

You can't call that on glass and then let that one go. Same play.

Was thinking the same thing. Weak cross check but they literally just called it

That's a bad loss.

DOC, Bunting, to a lesser extent, Sid had nice nights. Both goals were off of horrible turnovers by Shea then Pettersson. Ned gave us a chance to win. Another game with just one goal - and it's from Crosby again. Three games ago it was on a PP where I think Sid had the zone entry.

I think we won 18 of 21 faceoffs in the 2nd and got 6 shots. That was just not an organized or pointed game.

At this pace it seems the team could end up with a top 5 pick, maybe even top 3

I was only able to stay up through the 2nd. why can't this team put 60 solid minutes together? that 2nd period, Pens looked unbelievably lethargic and bored. no energy whatsoever.
those that watched the whole thing, should I even bother to watch the 3rd period?

I always watch. But we certainly played better in the 3rd as compared to the 2nd. It's just that no one can make a play at forward besides 87.

They picked it up a bit in the third, but I wouldn't bother watching it.

I was only up because of the Iowa State-Arizona hoops game.

The first 6-7 minutes of the game were pretty decent and some no-name goalie stoned them. Then the 3rd period was ok but as what hurt them last season, there are no finishers outside of the top line. O'Connor's penalty shot attempt (spoiler!) was DOA as soon as he skated slow and to the boards. Why do these players immediately end their chance on a penalty shot by cutting off their angle and speed advantage? Only Sid can get away with that slow motion play and pick his spot. Everyone else isn't deft enough to pull it off.
