I've seen enough terrible ref calls in both the NFL and NCAA where obvious penalties need to be able to be overturned by the sky ref.

Holy sht. That is one of the most questionable calls I've ever seen. Not only was the receiver not covered up, but the linesman waited a full five seconds until the touchdown until throwing his flag.

They’re going to figure out a way to squeeze a 3 loss bama team into the playoffs, aren’t they?

ESPN will be leading the charge. Some of the commentary last night was insane. Making the point that Alabama getting blown out just shows how "tough" the SEC is.count2infinity wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 8:57 am They’re going to figure out a way to squeeze a 3 loss bama team into the playoffs, aren’t they?

What everyone, including the on-air rules expert missed was that it was called illegal touching, which is why the flag was thrown so late. If the pass goes elsewhere, there’s no illegal touch. But as far as there being a penalty, I don’t think there was anything there to begin with.shafnutz05 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 10:14 pm Holy sht. It’s gonna really suck when they come north and beat OSU, PSU or Oregon.

I think we (as CFB fans) need to start reevaluating what "good" is with these new conferences.
We're going to start seeing a lot of 2 or 3 loss teams in the top 12 with how the conferences are drawn up and with the luck of the scheduling draw. You see it now with the SEC mainly - there's a lot of transitive win stuff going on (Texas beat ____, Georgia beat Texas, Tennessee beat Georgia) - but it's going to come for the B1G sooner or later.

I think we should enjoy this playoff while we have it, because I don't think it will last long. One teams find a way to legally bail on the ACC, it's going to be just the BIG 10 and SEC. Their champions will play each other for the National Championship. Everyone else is effed.

They've got a running back named Scatterboo who is like Peyton Hillis reincarnated. He's a bruiser and defenses can't figure out how to stop him. They also play pretty good defense. Their coach is an alum and is one of the youngest coaches in 1-A. It's a fun story since they were picked dead last in the conference as they were still coming off the mess that Herm Edwards left them.RonnieFranchise wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 10:33 pm I have no reason to pay any attention to the Big XII but where tf did Arizona State come from.

Home game vs Indiana is about as best PSU could hope for.

Figure Boise State finishes at the 4 seed. If Oregon were to beat Ohio State, I could see Penn State be the 5th seed, get a home game vs whoever wants to win the Big 12 followed by Boise State. I'd take that path.count2infinity wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:43 pm Home game vs Indiana is about as best PSU could hope for.

100% chance the committee will put Alabama in if they beat Auburn.
