Apparently he let it slip today that the Twitter algorithm automatically hides posts with links because "it's lazy and you can just sum up your point otherwise".

Journalists, companies, small businesses, artists, writers, etc. use social media as a way to promote themselves. If you can't include a link to your website or whatever you're selling (and have people actually be able to see it), Twitter has no value as an advertising platform.

I left Twitter, because somewhere in the past year or so, my actual for you feed went from stuff I was interested in, to Elon forcing himself and his thoughts onto it, and all the right wing **** just bleeding into my feed. It seemed pretty obvious to me, that they were abusing the algorithm.

I have had Twitter accounts to monitor past employer's social media activity (I myself never posted). I created a personal acct for the sole purpose of asking @popehat a question (via comment and DM, they replied to both - I don't know if it was Ken himself or someone else posting under the handle), and that remains the totality of my LTD Twitter use.

It's simpler than that: Musk hates women. If you have enough money and go the IVF route, you can pick and choose embryos that you want (i.e. keep the males, discard the females). He has, what? 13 kids? 10 of them were born male at birth? So when one of his hand picked sons transitioned to a female, he lost his sh*t and went full blow transphobe, and thus his new found home in the MAGA dojo. Everyone agrees with him there, so he feels comfortable and safe in his hatred for women and more specifically his hatred for trans folk.

I don't think that I need to point this out, but knowing some folks around here, I'll make sure I do point it out: this is just fun internet conspiracy non-sense. No need to dig deeper than that.

The other working theory I have is that he's basically the Comedy Bang Bank character Alimony Tony, but instead of loving to pay alimony, he wants to pay child support. The origin of his wealth is basically the same as Tony as well.
