AL

East: Red Sox (naturally)
Central: Royals - very iffy on this pick
West: Angels - offense carries them
WC1: Tigers
WC2: Oakland

NL

East: Nationals - they should be the first to clinch
Central: Cardinals - probably the best division
West: Dodgers - eh, not happy about it
WC1: Pirates - for you yinzers
WC2: Giants

So all games on the last day of the season will start at the same time, apparently to prevent scoreboard watching by teams. Seems like a good idea.

Bucco's win the World Series! Actually, I have no clue. I'd love to follow baseball more closely, but I find it to boring to watch on T.V., so the only exposure I really get is the select few Buc's games I go to. Maybe I'll try my hand at baseball more since I've shied away from football in recent years...

outside of the playoffs I can't watch any game that isn't the Red Sox. Games are just way too long

Kiley McDaniels of FanGraphs was the first to report that the Braves have traded closer Craig Kimbrel and outfielder Melvin Upton, Jr. to the Padres in exchange for pitching prospect Matt Wisler, minor league outfielder Jordan Paroubeck (link), outfielders Cameron Maybin and Carlos Quentin, and the 41st overall pick (per ESPN’s Keith Law).
Didn't even realize Kimbrel was on the block.

I forgot that B.J. Upton (or was it Justin?) changed his name to Melvin.

Probably because Papi is the only one not on board with the up pacing the league is trying to do. ;)

question: for those that play/played baseball in high school and what have you, did you model your swing after any pro?

I was Nomar Garciaparra 2.0

In MLB 14 I chose Napoli for my swing. Does that count?

NL East:
1. Washington
2. Miami
3. Mets
4. Atlanta
5. Philly

NL Central:
1. Pittsburgh
2. St. Louis
3. Cincinnati
4. Cubs
5. Milwaukee

NL West:
1. Dodgers
2. San Diego
3. San Francisco
4. Colorado
5. Arizona

For the central, i think the reds/cubs/brewers are all within a couple games of each other and all on the 75-80 win range
