It is also problematic that most of the sensitive auto flushers also tend to have ultra high powered flushes. So you end up with an unexpected flush AND sprayed toilet water everywhere

Back in the day I used to read a humor website called poopreport.com. It was all funny stories of people pooping, pooping themselves, and occasionally even pooping on other people.* I recall the term for people who wouldn't poop in public restrooms was "shameful sh**ter." The opposite was "shameless sh**ter."

* Accidentally, of course. Stories about intentionally pooping on another person would belong on different site entirely.

nocera wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 6:41 pm If you’re on iOS, use the Brave browser. It automatically blocks all YouTube ads. Brave is essentially my YouTube app now.

Oops. Obviously I didn’t read DG’s reply before posting. But yeah, Brave blocks all ads. I haven’t seen a single ad since I starting using it in June of last year.

Where I'm running into this is on the YouTube app on my Fire cube. Probably should have gave more detail before posting.

I did notice that Opera GX also does a good job with ads. It looks like it runs them for about 0.1 seconds, moves to the next one and does the same thing until its finished. If I recall correctly, I don't remember seeing any interrupts during the middle of the video.

I'm trying to remember if I have anything running in the background. There might be a chance that uBlock is running, although I'm also running Opera GX for my work laptop and it seems like it bypassed ads in the same way.

Yep. I purposely sit upright (good posture ftw) as much as possible because the second you lean forward, unsolicited enema.

You use your hand to wipe instead of toilet paper and use your poop to draw pictures of wild animals on the stall walls?

Hulu's sports broadcast sorting algorithm (in the "sports on now" menu). They'll show the boradcast every college event that's occurring no matter how obscure, including but not limited to tennis singles and low level D-1 college basketball, as well as NFL redzone (which is offline right now) and MLB network (offseason) before getting to live NHL games. For the Hurricanes/Flyers game on national tv right now I had to scroll over 81 items

Got a bill for a $50 co-pay on the ankle brace my daughter got at urgent care last month. Had to call IBX to make sure this was correct, and it was. $137 brace negotiated down, $50 co-pay.

The brace is $20 online.

I subscribe to Amazon music (paid plan), so it annoys me when a podcast starts off with 5 minutes of commercials and has more commercials sprinkled throughout.

Unfortunately that’s pretty commonplace now. It’s part of the reason why my podcast listening has gone way down in favor of audio books. The majority of podcasts are absolutely littered with ads.

Our local hospital chain damn well has out insurance information but for some reason didn’t charge it for some stuff Mrs. f had done. Got a first notice bill for $302. Filled out the insurance info part and mailed it in. Following month, same bill, second notice. Same thing. This month, $302 bill, final notice. Guess I have to pick up the phone.

Damn I hate talking on the phone.

The History of Curb your Enthusiasm podcast has somewhere between 3-5 ad breaks of up to 4 minutes each for a 50-100 minute episode. It sucks, obviously.

@RonnieFranchise My parents, towards the end(s) of their lives, spent HOURS a week on the phone straightening out insurance and Medicare issues. My dad said he was glad he was retired so he had time to do it all. But seriously, it's an enormous time suck.

Mrs. F is a Social Worker with the elderly and it's a lot of what she does. Then gets off work and helps her elderly parents with it.

I called the medical billing department and they said "Your insurance company said you were not covered on May 14." Lady look at all the medical bills you send my wife. You telling me she was covered by this policy April 7, June 23 and September 7 but not May 14?

"You should call them and just make sure you were covered that day."

They are gonna tell me I was covered. Re submit the mother ****.

Someone just called my phone asking for my grandfather by name.

He died in 1999. I'm irrationally pissed off at this.
