Both of those are good choices. I lean towards Shelton from what I've read.

Everything I read suggests they are both good candidates. I stand by my crusade that baseball managers don't really matter though

The new pitching coach will be the more important hire, but doesn’t really matter as it appears they are about to embark on a multi year rebuild.

Lol, reds sign mike moustakas. Olney talking about how good their lineup is and heyman asking if they are the division favorites.
Finishing second to last, only ahead of an imploding pirates franchise, adding a decent hitter and these idiots rush in with the same wrong takes as last year.

Were they good drafts?
Bichette was 2016, so we know he didn’t make that pick

Remember when Diaz was the greatest defensive catcher in the history of minor league baseball?

I had read this was going to happen. Seems to have taken a nosedive this year.

Crazy ride for him. He had no business being good but somehow was. Then reverted so hard that he's not even worth a chance to bounce back. I wouldn't have bet on him but he surprised before. There's always some bum backup out there i guess that can be better

Indeed.Stallings looks like an ideal #2. Diaz was one of the worst players in baseball last year. I imagine they will sign someone to time share with Stallings and expose Diaz to waivers.

Wheeler just got quite a contract. 5 years 118 million.
Cole and Strasburg are going to get over 250.

The top 3 are no doubt off the table, I don't think the A's would have any interest, but I could see the Braves or Padres being interested.

I wonder if the Dodgers would be interested in Marte and Vazquez after his prison sentence for Ruiz. The Padres have been rumored to be looking for a CF because they want to compete and Margot has not really developed as hoped, but they traded for Tommy Pham last night, acquired Trent Grisham last week, and still have Margot, Myers, and Cordero. That's a pretty crowded outfield.
