Still: so much Rogue One! For one thing we learned that the spin-offs are actually called Anthology films, and the full title is Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One. The Anthology films will be all sorts of genres, all sorts of stories, all sorts of scale, and they'll allow Lucasfilm to work with emerging directorial talent and also introduce new characters into the Star Wars universe. Does this mean the rumors of them being origin stories are out the window?

This much is certain: Rogue One is no origin story. It's a sidequel, telling the tale of the heisting of the Death Star plans, the ones that Princess Leia hid in R2D2. So no, no Bothans will die in this movie. But other characters might! Gareth Edwards, who is directing the 2016 film, said "It's called Star WARS," and his crew is full of people who worked on war films like Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down and Zero Dark Thirty. In fact Creig Fraser, who shot Zero Dark Thirty, will shoot Rogue One.

Well, the Incom T-65 was badly in need of an update. At the time of its introduction, it represented an almost unbeatable combination of speed, maneuverability, affordability and lethality. It was reminiscent of the Northrop F-20 Tigershark, which - inexplicably - no one in the entire world ever wanted. The new T-70 appears to have all the bells and whistles, since it was developed in an Empire-less world. (Or at least a world where the Empire wasn't quite the shiznit it once was) There are already some noticeable differences from the iconic T-65, but whether they are performance related or low-observable concessions, only time will tell. Mostly, I think it's just looks neat.

hahah give me a break. Like you said, sure he has had other projects but by and large he disappeared after 1983. Harrison Ford is ten years older than you and in much more of a position to turn down work.

I heard a rumor that Fisher declined payment for her first role in Star Wars (she was loaded already anyway) in exchange for something like 1-3% of everything Star Wars ever makes. Anyone know of the validity of that rumor?

It looks like 1/4 of a point. Still not bad. That's only for Episode IV though I think.

I'm pumped for these new films.

Lucas was great for dreaming up the story/universe, but my got, outside of the original Star Wars, he pretty much ruined the prequel as a director.

I just hope they don't go overboard and have one new film like every year and we have mass overload.

The Red Letter Media reviews of the prequels should be put into the Smithsonian as an American treasure.

That's how George Lucas was paid. When things started going screwy during production, he offered up his director's salary to go back into the production budget. In return, he said he wanted the merch rights, plus backend participation (both of which were novel concepts in 1976/7). Alan Ladd at 20th Century Fox sort of snickered before agreeing........ and ultimately got fired because of it.

Thankfully, he wasn't fired before greenlighting 'Alien'.

Those reviews make the existence of the prequel trilogy worthwhile.
