TIL Alex Zverev, after his 1st round win, pledged to donate all of his prize money to the bushfire relief efforts if he wins the tournament. He's two wins away losing $2.8 million.

I'm a Federer fan but I'd be ok if all three retired with the same amount of Grand Slam Wins.
I think Nadal and Djokovic both pass him up though being 5 years younger.

That seems harsh, but I also don't like Djokovic. I'll allow it.

12 French Open wins. I can’t imagine a golfer winning 12 of any major.

Very cool. It's like Bletchley Park and the Enigma machine; the Brits couldn't let on that they had broken the code and could read German military radio traffic for fear that the codes would change.

This is phenomenal stuff. I remember how cool it was seeing Andre win the Australian at age 33 back in 2003; nowadays we've gotten so used to guys competing for slams into their mid-30s.
hopefully Boris gets his life together.

So Osaka exited the French Open after one match and not attending a mandatory media session (for which she was fined $15K), stating mental health issues (and she left the Open because she didn't want to be a distraction).

That is really sad, and hopefully she can get the help she needs. It makes you wonder if some of the historically "difficult" players dealing with media also had similar problems. I'm sure some were just dicks, but I'm sure others have some level of anxiety as well.

Marcelo Ríos was definitely just a dick.

I missed most of it because of the **** soccer match. Idiot me.

As a casual tennis watcher, I'm surprised Wimbledon allows backwards hats, considering the dress code. Why do tennis players do that? Is there an actual reason or is it just looks?
