Navarro was lambasting the SC auto industry, particularly the BMW plant up in Greer. I can't even begin to explain how BMW changed the whole commerce infrastructure in this state in the 30+ years they've been in operation. The plant itself redeveloped that part of the state, that was under severe economic depression after the textile mills went over seas in the 80s and 90s. Then the complimentary parts plants that feed parts to the BMW assembly center create jobs not only near the plant, but all over the state. And finally, many of the cars (SUVs really) that are built there are shipped out of Charleston, where I saw first hand the growth in the ports.

It was fun watching the mostly GOP leaders around the state - including the first major politician to endorse Trump, SC Governor Henry McMaster - tiptoe around how to criticize the President's policies without drawing fire from Trump or his minions.

Continuing to function outside of reality eh? Which party is in favor of abolishing unions again? Which party still supports trickle down economics which leads to more and more tax breaks for their rich buddies?

Do you just cook up narratives in your head then do the usual thing of googling for things that agree with you? Surely your lawyer brain doesn’t allow you to be so easily bamboozled and disconnected from real life.

And which party is now +9 on the question "what party cares more for the needs of people like you" with blue-collar voters according to a new CNN poll? A 16-point swing since 2017? While college-educated voters haven't moved on the question? Oh, yeah, it's the Republican party, which is picking up the voters that the Democrats are abandoning to become the party of predominantly urban, white-collar, college-educated workers.

Many people who talk to Trump one on one, behind the scenes, and without the cameras say he comes across as unlike his public persona. But his public persona is what runs the country and his policies. He still lies all the time and makes awful decisions. Who cares if he was nice to someone who was going to talk about it on tv. I don’t always agree with mahr, but think he usually has some good points. This was just befuddling though.
