I think people in his admin told him that Navarro is a nut and that blanket tariffs are a horrific idea
What’s funny though is that if there was one thing worth building in this country, it’s high end electronics, not cheap goods like clothing and plastic ****, so the tariffs make less sense

Thankfully Trump has enough self awareness to cave to the Chinese.

Navarro was lambasting the SC auto industry, particularly the BMW plant up in Greer. I can't even begin to explain how BMW changed the whole commerce infrastructure in this state in the 30+ years they've been in operation. The plant itself redeveloped that part of the state, that was under severe economic depression after the textile mills went over seas in the 80s and 90s. Then the complimentary parts plants that feed parts to the BMW assembly center create jobs not only near the plant, but all over the state. And finally, many of the cars (SUVs really) that are built there are shipped out of Charleston, where I saw first hand the growth in the ports.
It was fun watching the mostly GOP leaders around the state - including the first major politician to endorse Trump, SC Governor Henry McMaster - tiptoe around how to criticize the President's policies without drawing fire from Trump or his minions.

Pam Bondi is a soulless c*nt.
They blanket pardon every J6er, which included many awful people like child molesters, woman beaters, etc.
Vandalize a Tesla? Decades in prison. We are already living in a fascist state.

[The President] "gave us a directive to prosecute the people who are going after Tesla to the fullest extent of the law, some of the greatest police work I've seen. We've made 4 arrests. There will be no negotiations at your directive," Bondi haughtily declared at a press conference.

And which party is now +9 on the question "what party cares more for the needs of people like you" with blue-collar voters according to a new CNN poll? A 16-point swing since 2017? While college-educated voters haven't moved on the question? Oh, yeah, it's the Republican party, which is picking up the voters that the Democrats are abandoning to become the party of predominantly urban, white-collar, college-educated workers.Pavel Bure wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 7:28 pmContinuing to function outside of reality eh? Which party is in favor of abolishing unions again? Which party still supports trickle down economics which leads to more and more tax breaks for their rich buddies?Shyster wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 6:42 pm Yet more evidence that we are in the midst of a party realignment where the Democrats are abandoning their labor roots to shift to being the party of predominantly urban, white-collar, college-educated workers, while the Republicans are shifting away from representing the wealthy and their business interests to become the the party of predominantly rural, blue-collar trade workers and farmers.
Do you just cook up narratives in your head then do the usual thing of googling for things that agree with you? Surely your lawyer brain doesn’t allow you to be so easily bamboozled and disconnected from real life.

Check back in 6 months on that poll question.
And would you say you’re still right about supporting Trump? I wouldn’t think a person who supports free will could support Trump in many ways right now.

Oh hey delusional friend. This is akin to saying Tesla’s stock was going to crash a year ago and then digging it back up now to say you were right.Shyster wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 1:20 pmAnd which party is now +9 on the question "what party cares more for the needs of people like you" with blue-collar voters according to a new CNN poll? So bill mahr went to the White House for dinner and talked about it on this week’s show. He seemed impressed that Trump wasn’t a dick to him and was “gracious.” I’m not sure why he thought this was a good thing. Many people who talk to Trump one on one, behind the scenes, and without the cameras say he comes across as unlike his public persona. But his public persona is what runs the country and his policies. He still lies all the time and makes awful decisions. Who cares if he was nice to someone who was going to talk about it on tv. I don’t always agree with mahr, but think he usually has some good points. This was just befuddling though.

It really doesn’t matter which of his personalities is the real one and which is the con. Judge him based on his actions. Still, even if you say shitty things about people over and over, does it really matter if you don’t mean those things? You’re still saying shitty things.

From all accounts I've seen of the public's interaction with Madden, he's a good guy.
He plays a heel as an entertainer.

So does shyster think that change in blue collar worker’s attitudes is the product of messaging or better policy?
Because you do realize it’s a matter of messaging, right ?

Nothing has been more clear these the last few years than how much of an idiot bill Maher is.MWB wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 9:38 pm So bill mahr went to the White House for dinner and talked about it on this week’s show. This El Salvador stuff is just hopelessly depressing. We are driving headlong into fascism/disappearing people and half of this stupid country is cheering it on.
Place literally sounds like hell on earth.
