Indeed.

I guess next they'll be sticking up for Charles Manson.

I mean, it's coming from the "guns don't kill people, people kill people" crowd so "Hitler didn't actually kill people, his government did" is the next logical step /s

Much like the war in Ukraine, if they just let us have it, there will be no war.

If it wasn’t so depressing, the current dilemma for Senate Dems of whether or not to vote for the proposed CR vs shut down the government is very interesting

essentially you vote for the CR to avoid a shut down, you appease Trump and Musk. You probably get cred from independents but hardcore Dems hate you even more

You don’t vote and a shut down happens. Trump gets to exert more control and deem who is/isn’t essential and we could be headed toward a really bad spot

I think Dems should let it pass because I don’t think they’re ready for a war. There’s still not really a strong leader on the Dem side who can unite both far left progressives and center left moderates and it will be very easy for Trump to blame the Dems for a shut down rather than an obviously horribly partisan and Trump-serving CR.

AOC I guess is the closest to that right now (other than Bernie but he’s old) but she still makes poor decisions in regards to leaning too far into social progressive issues, like helping illegal immigrants avoid deportation raids which I think is broadly unpopular with moderates right now

Economic progressiveness is likely the way it of this for liberals but social progressiveness is obviously very controversial and will make it tough to get broad support

He lived in the US since he was 7 and overstayed his visa.

Sounds like someone who is currently trying to gut the government...

Got my canned response from Fetterman on the DOE DEI portal. Doesn’t even mention the portal, just the usual bullshit fluff about believing in education.

I eagerly await McCormick’s equally canned response.

Musk portraying himself as a defender of democracy is **** nauseating. Drug addict with a god complex.
Without judicial reform, which means at least the absolute worst judges get impeached, we don’t have real democracy in America,” Musk said on X.

He reacted after federal agencies were ordered on Thursday to immediately reinstate tens of thousands of federal workers with probationary status who had been laid off by DOGE as part of its sweeping government cost-cutting efforts, dealing a blow to Musk, as he seeks to eventually reduce the deficit by $1 trillion.

Yea. They are being complicit by not doing the things they are required to do to ensure that there is at least some fight. Otherwise, its the path to hell.

Mainstream dems are in the “you broke it you bought it” mindset.

They are worthless as an opposition party. Just let the gop wreck things and win the electoral backlash.
