It has not rained in 27 days here. Much of NJ and parts of PA under a drought watch. We've become a desert climate over the last month, cannot remember such a long, nonstop period of such dry air.

This long range is not encouraging

We are supposed to get rain Halloween night during trick or treating. No rain at any other point.

My plane has been broken for 8 weeks. Pretty awesome seeing clear skies every single day while standing on the ground. Fan **** tastic feeling.

We actually got a quarter inch of rain overnight Sunday, after a "cold front" moved in, dropping the temps from mid-80s to upper 60s. Back up to the 70s-80s for the next 10 days. That was a first precip since the first few days of October. Very normal. :?

TIL what a salt front is. Essentially, it's the furthest point from upstream in a body of water below which the water is not suitable for drinking water because of high salinity. In periods of drought, it moves further up.

Yep, same here. Will had a brief shower yesterday, but a good steady rain today for the first time since September.

Yeah, we only got like .05" or something. The bulk of that storm missed us.

Hmmm.

Wednesday is a high of 64F.
Thursday is a high of 36F and is calling for 3" of snow.

While I don't believe that anything will accumlate, what's happening here?

Also it's forecasting rain/snow every day until at least Dec 2nd for you folks that were whinging that it was too nice for the last month.

Guess I should do the leaves today or tomorrow instead of waiting for the weekend then.

Our lawn guy texted my wife saying he's going to wait one more week to come back and do the last of the leaves. Dude messed up.

Our final leaf collection is next week, so I was going to wait until Sat/Sun. 61° today and tomorrow over here? Yeah, no brainer.

I got the majority of our leaves over the last couple weekend. I will probably just mulch the rest and call it a season at this point. Not worth the hassle.
