No thread? USA looks great thus far. Who are the top prospects here? Paging @mikey. Strome is the only name I know.
I went to Toronto ten years ago this time of year and watched the USA/Canada game at a bar. Ever since seeing how big it was there I've tried to watch it each year. Was bummed when Buffalo won the bid over Pittsburgh

Yeah, last year there wasn't much interest...so I skipped out on it. USA is off to a good start for sure. Denmark is a great story. The Finns going from gold to the relegation round for the first time ever for any team...firing their coaching staff halfway through the tournament...
It's been a fun one for sure...
To address your question re: top prospects...are we talking draft eligibles? Already drafteds? Undrafteds?

With permission, I am just going to copy a text I sent the other day when asked the same question...
I guess Alexander Nylander, Dylan Strome, Matt Barzal, Kirill Kaprizov, Tyson Jost, Colin White, Olli Juolevi, Clayton Keller, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Mikhail Sergachev, Vili Saarijarvi, Jeremy Bracco would be a good launching point I guess at a glance.
Of those, it has been rough (rough I tell ya) for Dubois and Sergachev in this round robin stage. Strome has been a little sleepy too for the player that probably should be burning down villages in this thing, he's been mostly throwing centering passes around but he's the center...

He is a long trajectory player. Columbus went for the upper deck shot at this one. People will over react now because Puljujarvi will be better for the next few years (for the record, I have been all about Pulju for a couple years now...when he was 16 I said he would go 1st overall in 2016) but CBJ just wasn't feeling it and went with the long con...I can see it, but I don't agree with it...we'll see in 2020-ish where they're at on that...

While I didn't think he did play by play, it does sound a little like him. And he works for NHL network.. But I haven't been paying enough attention to them to tell youcrusherstasiak wrote:Is that steve mears with the call?willeyeam wrote:We have ourselves a game

Yeah, he did it last year as well...pretty brutal at it, I had to watch about 9 minutes of NHLN coverage of this tournament and it sucked...Dennis Beyak and Craig Button / Gord Miller and Ray Ferraro always do a great job for TSN...
