No that was Kasper Bjorkqvist.
Hallander could potentially be a nice boost to the middle-6 moving forward.

No, that was Kasper Bjorkqvist. Hallander was the prospect that was part of the Kapanen trade and then we got him back in the McCann trade

Well he was second in the Swedish league in both goals and points so maybe there’s something there.

He also went 0-0-0 in six playoff games this year

Still don't see him being more than a 4th liner...watched a good chunk of that overtime game he had against Frolunda, he got a breakaway in the 2nd OT I think starting from his own blueline, just missed a five hole winner...but I don't think his stats there are transferable to here. Hell, from what I saw, he's more of a guy that hangs around the net. He hustles. But whatever...I don't care if he comes back or not...

Might be out there. Someone told me 2 year deal for Hallander.

Kinda nice to see 2 and 41 getting meaningful minutes. Hopefully they can both break camp in the top 9 next year

It’s two games of course, but I see them doing it. They still need to somehow nab a high end top 6 player but having these guys makes the top 9 look so much more tolerable. If Novak is decent and with Geno in there its actually pretty solidKing Colby wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 10:09 am Kinda nice to see 2 and 41 getting meaningful minutes. Defense is such an issue though. I’m not sure what they need to do to fix it

Better yet, sign good players. Signing players better than Graves won't do it.

Agreed.
With this cap space, I don’t want to see a ton of players signed. I want 2 players, one forward and one defenseman, where most of our cap spending goes to. Then fill out the rest of the squad with youth or some of our shitbag veterans

This team goes nowhere with 1.5 useful defensemen and 0.5 useful goalies

Pens gotta hope Jarry gets it together or Murashov is really a stud because there’s nothing on the free agent market next yearKing Colby wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 1:19 pm This team goes nowhere with 1.5 useful defensemen and 0.5 useful goalies
I think the Pens have 4 defensemen that will be on next years roster that are NHLers: letang, EK, Timmins, and Pickering. Brunicke probably still a year away. So I might be off with only one legit FA acquisition. They might need two on the back end

Good point. Probably will need to sign a higher caliber guy. We really should have traded him

Lizotte was absent at practice, as was Tomasino (but he was expected)
