Long Island City has a ton of great breweries...
LIC Beer project, Fifth Hammer, Big aLICe. They're all really good. LIC Beer Project has a coolship, so they have lots of decent sours/wilds.

Yea, I liked the one I tried. Usually low in alcohol percentage so it was a nice drink to have when at the beach.

Had a little too much liquid enjoyment last night....who drinks a barleywine on a 130 degree day? Me, apparently. I have to say, Sierra Nevada Bigfoot is superb. I've never been a huge barleywine fan but I really liked that one.

if anybody interested in heading to beerfest at Stage AE and have not picked up tickets yet, there's listed on Burgh Bargains for $39 a pop.

I'm still on the fence about going. Cut back on my boozing and have probably tried most of the stuff being poured, but I still seem to always have a good time at this outdoor beerfest.

I chugged one at a 2 yr olds birthday party as I was heading out the door to make Saturday mass so I didn't have to wake up Sunday, so also ended as well as one would expect.

Just had some Bourbon Barrel-Aged Palo Santo Marron at the Dogfish Head Restaurant in Rehoboth, DE. Definitely the best beer I have ever had.

Just ordered ingredients to make a knockoff of Arrogant Bastard. I will be using my own home grown hops for this, excited to see how it turns out.
BEER
Rusty Rail's Wolf King is a good stout.
Their stuff is hit or miss for me and they have some oddballs, so I was pleasantly surprised that their peanut butter hefeweizen, Fool's Gold, is surprisingly good. I couldn't have more than one, though. It's also 8% ABV, but you couldn't tell from the taste.

Welp... guess I'll take my patronage somewhere else when I'm visiting Cleveland.
For real though: good for them. They grew like crazy the past few years and sold out. It's the dream. Masthead and Fat Heads it is for this guy.

I figured gr8 lakes would be more likely to sell to big beer than platform

The more I'm reading, the more I'm thinking that Platform tried to grow too fast. AB is probably supporting them financially and allowing them to stabilize. GL grew at a reasonable pace. Same for Fat Heads.MrKennethTKangaroo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 2:59 pm I figured gr8 lakes would be more likely to sell to big beer than platform
