Is there anyone that doesn't like Pearl Jam, but likes other grunge rock bands or you just don't like grunge rock?

I feel like everyone can do an impersonation of Eddie Vedder.

If soundgarden wasn’t grunge, neither was Pearl Jam.

Soundgarden was pre-peak-grunge, but they were grunge. Still in a tier above PJ, would even go so far as to say the best grunge band.

I always looked as the more hardcore/punk side of grunge as true grunge. Nirvana exploded in 1991; Pearl Jam were from Seattle so grunge.

Birth Ritual is classic grunge, they did evolve their sound. Badmotorfinger is a grunge album.

Honestly I don’t consider PJ grunge. I don’t think they’re heavy enough; not compared to Nirvana, Alice, Soundgerden etc

Pearl Jam sucks.
Alice in Chains is grunge, but damn good grunge. Soundgarden started off pretty grunge like I guess but evolved and are basically a rock band. Both miles better than Pearl Jam ever hopes to be.
Both Cornell and Stayley are/were better vocalists than Vedder as well.

Alice is one of my top 10 musical artists ever too so I don’t mean to say PJ is better
Nirvana defined the genre but their b-side stuff doesn’t hold up compared to Alice imo

I also think Nirvana sucks for the most part too.. I get their place in history and why they were important, but meh.

They have a few standout tracks, but the majority just runs together not moving the needle.

Nirvana’s best stuff is legendarily great (Smells like a teen Spirit, MTV Unplugged album) and they have some bonafide hits but AiC was much more rounded as a band
