I guess you still have the legacy film makers like Nolan making thoughtful original content, at least.Yep. The chance of a "serious" film (without some sort of a link to another IP) turning a profit in a theatrical release is smaller than ever.Prestige projects and originality go the route of premium TV/streaming anymore.
I think I enjoy the shift though. A good story takes time to tell. And the 3 hour movies are impossible to sit through anymore. So this is different, but ok.
I don’t miss movie theaters at all.
