I find it wild that injection site pain is not 100%
Did you have pain on the phirst pfizer shot?
I have yet to talk to a single person, pfizer or moderna, that didn't at the very least say it felt like they had some pressure in the injection area. My guess is the "no" category is filled with tough guys or people that take words super literally. "Pain? No, it was more like a mild irritation in the muscle any time I moved my arm, but pain? No. No pain."
I didn't even feel the needle breaking the skin. Just felt a mild amount of pressure as the juice entered, and after that it was nothing more than someone gently pressing the tip of their finger against my arm for a couple hours after. No lingering irritation (I mean, not from the shot, heyoooooo!), no nothing. It was such a non-thing that I forgot to take the band-aid off and found it in the bed 2 days later.

Maybe shot 2 will be different, but shot 1 was a complete non-event.

I didn't feel the shot at all when I got it but I've never gotten a vaccine where my arm didn't feel like it was punched a few hours afterward

Wife’s work announced that they’re going to start bringing people back to the office starting in July. She expected it, even though nobody wants to return. Their CIO, who lies about everything, said that “many people” want to return.

They’re increasing WFH, though, so she’ll only have to go back in twice per week. However, instead of converting the cubes to shared space, they’re asking people to find “cube mates” so that multiple people can share the same space on different days. This makes zero sense, because a) what is the WFH person supposed to use? They currently remote into their machine at work, and b) what happens if somebody switches a WFH day and both people go on site the same day? Her company is incompetent, and I’m glad I no longer work there.

Yeah, same - it was probably the most painless shot I’ve ever gotten, as far as the administration goes. But like 2 seconds later, I could feel the burn.

COVID-19

I sat next to a coworker last Tuesday in an outdoor dining situation. I found out today she tested positive over the weekend after starting to get sick Wednesday. As in the day after I sat next to her.

Why would she not say something? She doesn't know I had it and was (partially) vaccinated.

was reading up on vaccine efficacy vs variants. Apparently we’re good against the UK variant but the South African variant has proved troublesome. Moderna and Pfizer are developing a booster to protect against that (and possibly the Brazilian variant as well) so well all probably need another shot at some point

Today is my daughter's first day back to school since last March. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm still pretty nervous.

I know. It's that and she hasn't been physically more than 100' from me this entire time. It's almost like her first day at daycare again when she was a baby.

She'll be fine. Kids handle this stuff much better than the parents.

Just got my first dose of Pfizer. Gotta sit here for 15 and then I'm out. I must say, I'm very impressed with Lancaster County's system. They converted the old Bon Ton at the mall to a mass vaccination site. Ran very smoothly.

The shot itself didn't hurt at all which is a bonus.

Yep, my kids went back this week too. My wife has been home with them all year through school. She was a wreck. It's not the covid thing, just the daily pop ups in between classes.

Yeah, got mine yesterday afternoon and didn't even feel the shot. Woke up this morning and shoulder is a little sore, but not too bad.
