My favorite part is where the boy tells his brother the crazy things happening, then shows his brother the finger that has turned into a fly/monster/thing. In any other movie the older character would come up with some "reasonable" explanation. Instead, he deadpans, "I believe you." Cracks me up every time.
 I noticed that too. When I saw that I was like "here we go with the 'Come on bro be serious stop joking' trope" Nope. Dude just "OK lets do it" and ran with it like Jack Burton in Big Trouble in Little China, who also didn't question anything. He just went forward.
Haha, that's why these movies are so awesome.

Jack Burton is told that magic demons from china hell are coming to kill them while he's tied to a wheelchair and his response is "Bring it on mother ****!" Dude was driving a truck and losing at poker the day before and now he's just going with the flow.

This Phantasm discussion caused me to learn that Don Coscarelli’s daughter is hot.

To add: I am not an ALW fan, by and large, but I do love me some POTO. I watched the 25th anniversary concert from Royal Albert Hall - with bespoke staging - and after seeing that I followed her (and Ramin Karimloo) on social............. she likes yoga. Which works out for me pretty well.

She's not a movie star, but she can 100% get it. I'll gladly detract a point for being a vegan but that wouldn't stop me.

Agreed. The council of internet dudes must always have crazy high standards of who they think is attractive though. This is the way.

Martyrs is probably my favorite horror movie.

The Descent is next. Then It Follows.

Never seen Phantasm, somehow.
It Follows is absolutely superb. Top 5 for me too.

My dad and cousins are huge Phantasm fans.

I think I've only seen #2. Don't recall seeing 1.

Watched man of steel in preparation for snydercut. A couple thoughts: This rewatch is going to be tougher than I thought. MoS is a weird movie. The trailer is perfect and better than the movie. The action scenes are awesome. He is a good superman. Kids burst out laughing at the super neck snap. This isn't a good movie.

The Nice Guys (Hulu) was a lot of fun. Really enjoyed it. I'm pretty sure it bombed, and subsequently Shane Black was cancelled for hiring a pedo on a couple of films (including this one), so I doubt there will be a sequel. Gosling should do more comedies, and the noises his character makes are wild. The daughter was a piece of work, too. She looked familiar, but I couldn't place it until I went to IMdB: she plays Betty in the recent Spider-man films.

The Nice Guys is great and completely agree on Gosling in comedic roles. I had the same revelation regarding the daughter but while watching Spider-Man.

As far as Shane Black, I’m not sure his cancelling went further than him issuing an apology and having to endure Olivia Munn whine like the self-important talentless hack she is.
