The last view they showed was perfect. You could see the skate past the line and the puck still in the blue.

There should not be a penalty on that play, however.

A slash is considered a violent penalty so it’s still enforced. A hook, on the other hand, would not be called.Wasn’t the penalty occur after the offside????

Nah, that's the "right" call...there's a logic aspect to it that I get, but he still committed a foul...
If Ceci cut his head off with an ax, you can't say, "well, no major, the play was offside..."

This happened 15 years ago with Ruutu. It stuck with me.

it just logically doesn't flow. if a goal is reversed because the play didn't happen, why do we pick certain other things that still count? another instance of this league being in the stone ageA slash is considered a violent penalty so it’s still enforced. A hook, on the other hand, would not be called.Wasn’t the penalty occur after the offside????

it makes sense; does the rule book define the “categories” or is it up to the ref’s discretion?A slash is considered a violent penalty so it’s still enforced. A hook, on the other hand, would not be called.Wasn’t the penalty occur after the offside????

Hmm. I see both sides. I don’t care which way that goes. Both have valid points.

This is actually an advanced concept...
Not counting everything that happens because it's in "pretend" world would be stone age...that's simpler...

And the penalty occurred in the future, as play resumed before then.

i'd buy a rough or some non-hockey play. this penalty happened in the regular course of play in a play that was just deemed to not have technically happened. thumbs downNah, that's the "right" call...there's a logic aspect to it that I get, but he still committed a foul...

I totally get if it was a violent play. You would think the refs would have discretion for that situation. To say all slashes are violent is a little strangeThis is actually an advanced concept...

An injury can happen because of a slash. This is a league that judges severity of a penalty or suspension by if a guy actually got hurt. But in this case we use the possibility of getting hurtAn injury can happen because of a slash. anyway it's 3-0 and i can't actually get upset. I get it, but I just disagree. Glad it wasn't a 1 goal game
