I had hope with that early recovery today, but the way things are fading.... eeesh. This could get ugly. Dodint's correction is incoming, I fear.

Volume is trash right now. I'm not expecting a big move either way. Maybe a sell-off at the close but nothing huge.

I was wrong, it rallied instead of fell at the close. Basically recovered the morning losses and finished flat.

at ZOM. Consolidate much?
Poor NOK, sniffed 4 for a little bit then tumbled.
F broke through 12 and is doing great, highest it's been since I started watching it.

Okay so more seasoned people. Tell me if this is a good way to learn. I have picked 10 stocks at or under $10/share. I want to learn about each of the companies, watch some trends, and see if I can start eking out some profit by becoming aware of what a true dip looks like, picking some up, and selling when the price goes up 20ish cents.

Know your stop loss and profit exit before you buy in. Your profit should exceed your stop loss by 2 for the deal to make sense. So if it's trading at $10, and you set your risk acceptance stop loss at $9.80, you shouldn't sell until you're at $10.40. If you get to $10.40 you can change your standing profit limit order to a trailing stop to try to ride one last movement up.
When I trade on Schwab, and others, the stop loss and profit limit orders are entered at the time of the initial buy (they're called brackets). They can be changed or cancelled at any time, just pointing out you don't have to do anything special to set them up every time.

I made the mistake of looking at the ARK stuff and realized that I bought at the reverse dip.

I legit did not know that 'circuit breaker' halts applied to stocks going upwards.
What's the point? Protecting shorts? Shorting is contrary to the spirit of things, generally, so if that's the reason it seems contrary to good public policy.

I don't think they do? The current halt is a normal volatility halt, AFAICT.
