Anyone in Westmoreland Co have any luck getting a shot?

My dad's been working through all of this (grocery distribution), and while rather healthy, has high blood pressure. 2 coworkers tested positive. Trying to get him an appointment, but not having any luck.

My wife got one from Excela because she's a healthcare worker.

Everyone else I know that lives here and has received the shot had to leave the county to get one. Most recently my mother went to Harmar to get hers last Wednesday.

My almost 89 year old grandma (South Hills resident) had to register for a shot in Mars in March, because that was the only place she/my parents could get an appointment.

I have not been able to find any place that will even take registrations. Where did you find this?

No clue. I just stopped by at home to drop off tax stuff and my dad told me that was the only place they could get one. I didn't really ask what all he tried.

Just got bumped up on another list so now instead of 3/9 at RiteAid I’m going tomorrow morning at 8:30 at a MegaSite. Nice. I’ll be fully vaccinated before flying to Florida on 3/27!

Giant eagle and or rite aid seem to be the only "public" places doing it, or am I missing something?

The county planners are on record as saying they are doing a decentralized plan and leaving it up to retail outlets and PA-DOH.

There is a link to a list on the county website that lists all the places: https://www.co.westmoreland.pa.us/2966/ ... vider-List

1B is likely another month away. 1C is probably May(ish) and then fully open is probably July.

Wait all patients? What about the folks without a PCP?

COVID-19

Postby Tomas » Mon Feb 22, 2021 9:25 pm

Today is the first day since January 11 when the 7-day average of new US COVID daily cases increased on Worldometer. During the 41 declining days, the daily cases dropped from 255,311 to 69,235, i.e. by 72.9%.

It's mind-boggling to me that this was achieved without any wide-spread lockdowns, with significant parts of the US being pretty much open, with no hospital collapses... All while large parts of Europe have been in a shut-down mode for months...

[And just to clarify - I am happy, but almost uncomfortable seeing that "do nothing" approach works. I'd like to say that hopefully it is the "universal indoor mask mandate" (which, say, my state follows) - but then I see how many people in neighboring state of Missouri did not wear masks (because it's just recommendation there)...]

So, I was standing in line at the post office yesterday. The old dude in front of me was talking to me about COVID. I learned that I really did not have COVID when I tested postive last year. If I truly had COVID I would have been in the ICU or dead. Anyone else with lesser symptoms only really got the flu.
