Oh boy. Timing on this one is really something. He’s only been in the league for two years. 22 years old and five years younger than Trout when he signed his record deal. That could easily make the “bad back half” a “bad back quarter”. At the same time, dude hasn’t even played 162 MLB games yet. He could easily implode and the Padres would be ****.
Dude was a year away from arbitration and four from free agency. The Pirates front office probably had a stroke at the thought of paying more than league minimum before it’s necessary.

They'd be nuts to stay there during the summer since it's fully outdoor and even with the breezes off the Gulf, it'll be ridiculously hot. Dunedin will work for the first couple of months of the season but they might want to explore Buffalo again for the summer months. Is it really "safe to say"?

That reminds me of when people suggested the MLB use a bubble in the cactus league because there were so many fields. you think those guys are gonna play in 100 degree heat every day? yikes. They'd be nuts to stay there during the summer since it's fully outdoor and even with the breezes off the Gulf, it'll be ridiculously hot. He blew a .294.
His career batting average was .284.
They won't do it but I hope they throw the damn book at him. That area where he was swerving and got pulled over is a few miles from my house and I used to drive that stretch of road at night going to and from my gf's (not that late at night though).

I’m worried Jackie Bradley Jr. is gonna follow the lineage of Red Sox CFs like Damon and Ellsbury and go to the dark side

The GM of the Mariners lost his mind at what he thought was a private event, slagging the neighborhood the stadium is in, roster players, players using translators... And it ended up on YouTube:

So true. Those two gimmicks are 100x worse.7 inning double headers and man on 2nd for extras but we still have to watch pitchers hit.
MLB is dumb.
DH finally grew on me because pitchers really do waste everyone's time up there

I'm not that upset with pitchers having to bat
imo the biggest change needs to be a pitch clock
