Hockey Randomness
I remember folks thought it was an insane contract even after his 40 goal campaign a couple seasons ago. But last year was not good and this year is an unadulterated disaster.I stumbled across Jeff Skinner's contract. Is that the worst in the league?

Had to look it up. Oh dear.

I can see this a couple different ways:
1. It's definitely too much money for a player like Skinner, who is more a compliment than someone who can do it himself. He's not a $9mm player, no matter how you slice it. Botterill botched that part.
2. Ralph Krueger came in the year after he scored 40 and promptly placed him on the 4th line. Doesn’t really matter how good you are or how much you make, you're not going to get many opportunities to show what you're capable of. This is some extreme mismanagement on Krueger's part. It almost feels like Krueger had a vendetta against him before the word "go".
3. He likely was never going to hit the 40 goal mark again, but he worked well with Eichel. Eichel looks like he no longer wants to be there due to the complete and utter mismanagement of the team, so that's also complicating matters.
All in all, it's kinda the perfect storm of ****.

Apparently Kevin Bieksa has been sliding goofy photos on the mantle behind him during Hockey NIght in Canada. He’s had Ryan Kesler’s naked body from the ESPN shoot and a still of when Vernon Fiddler was making fun of him

Bieksa is already an all-time analyst for me...he's on a Romo track despite being just a studio guy...

Can't believe that happened almost a decade ago. 9th anniversary is actually this Friday.Apparently Kevin Bieksa has been sliding goofy photos on the mantle behind him during Hockey NIght in Canada. During a game in Dallas on February 26, 2012, Fiddler did a hilarious impression of Bieksa while the Canucks defenceman was sitting on the bench. It got a laugh from Bieksa, but it got an all-out giggle fit from head coach Alain Vigneault.

Management seriously thinks that team is way better than it really is, IMO
