I'm having a tough time coming to terms with the idea that someone that actually follows pitt athletics closely would actually try and bet on pitt games.
The one and only time I bet on Pitt was in 2009 the Cincy game. Pitt was a 1.5pt underdog. I bet $100 on Cincy to win thinking that if they won, I'd be $100 richer. If Cincy lost, I was going to be celebrating a Big East championship and a trip to the Sugar Bowl against Tim Tebow and the mighty Gators. So it's a win win either way, one just a better win overall.

Then Pitt misses an extra point, loses to Cincy by 1 and I came out a loser on both ends with the only result that coudl have driven that.

That is life as a Pitt fan.

We need NTP66 to get this printed on one of those FAFcoins and make it a Pittcoin

I went to the simulator to hit some golf balls and checked my phone on the way out - 36-36 Pitt vs UVA. Was excited to get home and see the rest of it. Get home and it's 49-36. K.

They're hanging around, but too far back with Virginia shooting the lights out.

Good defensive intensity for about 25 minutes

Then 10 minutes of flaccid defense

Equals loss

I think Twyman opting out backfired.

Tywman was never really a measurables guy so I can see why he would fall into the category of "out of sight, out of mind." I don't think he will help his stock out a ton during a pro day, either. You can't discount 11 sacks in 2019, but he would have benefitted from the hype generated by Pitt's defensive line in 2020.

Per Bruce Feldman of The Athletic on Twitter:

"SOURCES: #Hawaii receivers coach Brennan Marion is leaving to become the WR coach at #Pitt. Marion, a former NFL wide receiver, previously had been the OC at Howard and William & Mary. He grew up in Pittsburgh and has really strong ties there."

Losing Beatty sucked, but this is a pretty solid call as a replacement. Marion is from Hampton, VA but went to high school in Greensburg, PA. Most importantly (at least according to some of the PL crowd who follow these things closer than I do), he's reportedly got strong connections to the same Delmarva areas that Beatty had. Marion was OC at Howard in 2017-18 and at William & Mary in 2019.

Also, he's leaving Todd Graham's coaching staff to come here, so F U Todd Graham.

From everything I've read, this is a good hire. Definitely fills most of the holes that were there after Beatty left. Time will tell though if those thoughts are true. But promising so far.

Losing to FSU isn’t necessarily a problem, but this team has problems and they are all pretty much the fault of capel

I'm not sure it's a coincidence that things turned for the worse when Hugley left the team. I'll admit to not watching a ton but from what I see they are getting crushed down low. FSU had some key buckets yesterday off second chances

In any case.. Next year is a big year for Capel imo. They went from terrible to kinda bad to about a 500 ACC team this year. Needs to keep progressing next year to a winning league record

Hughley playing Gone in 60 Seconds definitely hurts, but even then he wasn’t necessarily a defensive presence in the paint. Competent defending from a big man has been lacking since Capel showed up and he’s been unable to fix it.

Yeah, he wouldn't be a huge factor, but he would have given us some much needed depth though and maybe would have been a difference against WF and NC State or something. FSU is just a different beast.

my reaction to this news sums up my reaction to pitt hoops in general.

he was a good player but also very counter productive, resulting in less than desirable results. did not get better in 3 seasons.

the team will be worse without him, yet the team was not good with him. that statement doesn't make sense, but it is true.

this is the way
