Now you know.

But did you stay through the credits?
Of course. I’m not an animal

Is Solo worth watching, even on a boring afternoon?

It’s a wholly unnecessary movie, but it’s fun.

Concur re Solo. It has a few solid moments but overall it's just kinda........ there.

It's interesting how the approach for both Rogue One and Solo was to take sort of throw away lines from the first movie - "I've placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this Artoo unit"; "It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs" - and build feature films out of explaining those events. Rogue One did a much better job.

If you are expecting Rogue One quality, Solo falls short. But it is still a fun movie.

If I can walk away from it not regretting wasting my afternoon, that's fine with me.

It's better than the 1st 2 prequel films and the Last Jedi imo.

The best thing Solo accomplished was to be the proving ground for the VFX tech that powers The Volume and the visual display of the Smuggler's Run ride.

The BTS stuff is better than the movie imo.

I rewatched Phantom Menace several months ago and was surprised by how much fun it was.

I know this is a constant debate, but Phantom Menace is the best of the prequels.

I'm inclined to support this take. There's a lot to like about it. Revenge of the Sith is a great action movie (or maybe I should rephrase, a movie with great action in it). Clones is irredeemable dreck.

Phantom Menace is the only one of the three that has an actual proper story structure. On top of that it knows the type of film it wants to be and while it doesn’t fully commit to it, comes much closer than the other two. Remove the boring taxation **** and it’s a perfectly fine children’s movie.

I’m not saying it’s a good movie, but it’s better than the other prequels. If anything, this just goes to show how shitty those movies are.

Pod racing sequence absolutely holds up. Neeson and McGregor bring their blockbuster A-game, they're both having a lot of fun. Ancillary characters like Boss Nass and Sebulba are more memorable than any other characters of a similar ilk from the new trilogy or rest of the prequels.

Duel of the Fates is the best lightsaber battle sequence in the entire saga.

I don't even care about jar jar binks because you forget every other character in the movie ****ing hates him, so you just watch those scenes through the other characters' lenses and they become instantly palatable.

I fully standby my take that Phantom Menace is the best prequel. Now, if meecrofilm is trying to say it's a GOOD movie, then he'll be awfully lonely out of that limb.

You are correct, Freddy. But consider the enormity of the bad takedness it took to unseat you.

No, but as far as Star Wars goes, it's pretty fun, which is more that can be said for a good share of 'em. I'd sooner watch it again than any of the dreadful, soul-less sequel trilogy.
