What part of Destiny couldn't you get into, out of curiosity?

There are quite a few complaints (valid and otherwise) regarding the new player experience so I'm curious to see how that went for you. A lot of the base game (came out in 2017) was vaulted due to bloat and creative direction (they made the vaulting part of the story) so I can definitely see how it would be difficult to find your way at the beginning with what little guidance you get.

This, actually. The game, at least early on, was vague with what you actually had to do.

I’ve started buying components for my own gaming PC. We built a new game capable pc in the summer in anticipation of the remote learning, and I resisted gaming on it until November.
Since then I’ve been mainly playing on PC. I ground out another Elite Dangerous acct, and refound my affinity for FPS due to kbm. I’m pretty much ready to pass down my xbone x to my youngest.
In addition to my elite dangerous obsession I dived deep into team games
Hell Let Loose(WW2) still in early access, but incredibly immersive and fun.
Squad(modern) pretty polished based on BF2/ARMA with more factions and bigger maps.
Beyond the Wire(WW1) early game preview trench warfare with good melee mechanics.

What all have you done so far?

To be honest, haven't even finished the first level yet. I'm going to give it another shot a little later, but I wasn't super impressed by the aiming/shooting.

That's fair. It's definitely different than most games, which either means you love it and can't really play anything else because it doesn't feel the same, or you can't get into it because it doesn't feel the same as whatever else you're playing.

Will say, depending on the weapon you're using, the handling stat can affect the feel of the weapon and aiming. Higher handling = more responsive aiming.

I also have logged way too many hours into the Destiny franchise as a whole (I think I'm over 1k in Destiny 2 alone), so if you have any questions about things, let me know.

I remember playing Destiny 1 when it first came out and not hating it, but not loving it. I know it got way better as it got longer in its life cycle, but just never went back. Some point need to do that.

It all depends on how quickly I beat Gears 5. If I finish that off soon, I'll probably give Destiny 2 another try while I wait for Halo: Infinite. I also downloaded Monster Hunter: World. but haven't launched it yet.

I am very close to the platinum on Immortals Fenyx Rising... Just need to somehow pull off an 84+ hit combo and then finish the story. Kinda concerned about the former but we shall see how it goes.

Just beat Gears 5. I have no idea how people beat it on insane - especially the last level. Incredible game overall, and I’ll be first in line for Gears 6.

It's both a good time and a bad time to be building a new gaming machine. Good because there are new products on the market such as the AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors, which are crushing not only AMD's prior chips, but also Intel's current offerings. Bad because those products are in super high demand and are darn near impossible to find.

I had both a ryzan 5 5600x and a nvidia founders edition 3070 in my bestbuy cart today and got griefed.
Big inventory drop today.
I’m a ryzan fan since last gen. I don’t trust those Radeon video cards though.

I have a reference 5700XT that is great at 1440p. The drivers were **** until earlier this year, and have been solid since then.

The AMD shared memory access between their 5000 series processors and 6000 series video cards sounds good on paper, but nvidia ampere is sogood.

I agree that the nvidia ampere cards look to be better than the new AMD cards, but I've always been an AMD guy, so I plan to go all-AMD for my next gaming PC. I've never owned a nvidia video card.

Has it really been eight years since Bioshock Infinite came out? Listened to "Can the Circle be Unbroken" and thought about it. Now there's a series I need to replay again.

I attempted to get my son a 1660 Super or ti for Christmas and couldn't find one at MSRP. Most sellers wanted north of $300 for one, which is madness for that card. I've always been a AMD guy myself, but my son's PC has a 1050ti on it and he likes the settings and Shadowplay. I'm going to look again this spring for his birthday, and may end up getting him a 55 or 5600XT. He just needs a solid 1080 card that matches his monitor's refresh 144hz refresh rate for FPS games like CoD, Rust, and Fortnite. (Teehee - he's started playing Fortnite again, because his girlfriend can play with him via crossplay)

Also, the Epic games store is giving away Battlefront 2 for free next week: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021 ... re-freebie

From what I can tell, if you add it to your library next week, it's free forever. It's the full game with all DLC and updates.

The graphics card market is so wacky. I bought a 1050ti in 2018 for $125 and I’m pretty sure I could sell it for a profit ATP.
I’m on a deal drop alert discord waiting to get a founders edition rtx3070.

So I haven't played much of anything since the first week of the last Modern Warfare battle pass. Just had it with shooters, and really can't get going with any single player games. Ugh.

So I fired up a few favorites last night: BFV, BF4, and Modern Warfare. My God, these games strain my eyes. It was uncomfortable playing them for more than 10 minutes at a time. I don't remember taking time off before and having that happen. I don't like it, this getting older bit. Does this happen to anyone else?

Are you playing on a computer monitor? If so, that'd be my guess.

I'm actually looking for more single player campaign games to check out. I thought about downloading Halo 5, but have heard that it isn't that good. I still may give Destiny 2 another shot in the future.

In the meantime, I intend to check out Hivebusters in Gears 5. I definitely prefer games like this as opposed to straight up war stuff like COD.

Yeah, the same one I stare at all day. It is a high refresh rate monitor though. I just don't remember it straining my eyes this much.
