It’s 6:25am and somebody is still setting off fireworks. I’ve never been more ready to murder someone.
WTF? That's crazy.

I have a text from my wife last night from 4:30 that she was just going to bed. Apparently she was talking to her aunt and uncle and they ended up chatting into the wee hours.

Naturally, my son decides to wake up at 5:15 this morning of all days. My decision to not imbibe last evening is looking good. Especially with only sleeping four hours or so.

I slept maybe an hour thanks to the noise. I generally don’t care if people set off fireworks for stuff like New Years, and expected a little more this year because 2020 was absolute trash. But 10+ hours straight? That’s too god damn much when it’s the middle of the night.

I woke up and didn't have any Bisquick mix.

This year was blessedly devoid of shenanigans of this sort. Which is very out of character for here, almost disconcertingly so.

Year round warm weather, the Pacific Ocean, and less shenanigans... so jealous of you, tif. Get the covid **** in order and you have it made.

I've been trying to install vinyl plank flooring for two days now and don't even have 2 full rows done. It keeps popping apart at the seams and I want to shoot myself in the face.

People who drive 40 in the left lane on a highway where the speed limit is 70. These people are worse than speeders, and I came across two of them today.

Packaging. Hear me out. Got my latest Subscribe and Save order yesterday, which included a tub of Cascade. The tub is actually only filled about 75%, so you have all of this excess material that serves no purpose whatsoever. The same can be said for chip bags and a ton of other things. I get that it's a sales tactic, but I'm genuinely curious if they could save more money - and help the environment - by scaling back the packaging as opposed to the mouth breathers who suddenly think that they're getting less product because the packaging shrinks.

Are you old enough to remember the original audio CD packaging that was about a foot tall?

Chip bags I understand due to settling. Other items like Cascade don't make sense.

I also don't like how we've been slowly duped over the years by products slowly shrinking in weight/size while prices climb. See: Oreo discussion a while back or a Reese's PB cup.

Why do Amazon drivers insist on putting packages right against my storm door? I couldn’t get it open today to grab our delivery because it was too heavy to shove the door hard enough to move the box.

Did it to me just now. No idea why that happens continually.

I saw an interesting post on a legal sub-reddit yesterday.

UPS driver walked up to the door. Packaged needed a signature. Since they don't do signatures anymore they just punch in the name of the person that answers the door. UPS driver was making small talk and asked what was in the box. Resident replied it was a PS5, a gift for his nephew. UPS driver finished punching in the name and noted that it was delivered by signature and marked the location via UPS. Then the driver picked up the package, nonchalantly walked back to the truck, and left with it. Resident has filed complaints with UPS, eBay, and the local police but they are all punting accountability for it to the other entities.

I'm not a legal expert but that seems squarely on UPS

also seems like a fake story (not that you're making it up dodint but the person who posted it on reddit is lying)

I think that was originally intended to inhibit shoplifting. When they first came out, they cost the 2020 equivalent of like $40. lol

I read a story about an Amazon delivery driver who was caught doing the PS5 snatchy-grabby thing on the homeowner's Ring. Amazon was originally just going to offer them a gift card, but when the customer shared the video footage they fired the driver.

The last three times I went to Wendy's, I tried to order chili only to be informed that they were out. Is there some sort of national chili shortage I'm not aware of?
