My wife miscarried once, earlier in the pregnancy. I can’t imagine it happening that late. How terrible.

She also had an ectopic pregnancy which took one of her tubes. Shortly after ww started exploring adoption she got pregnant with only one tube - they said it was not impossible but unlikely- and now the littlest Franchise is 13 years old.

I saw Tony Rice at least two dozen times. If I had to say which one was best I'd have to go back to the early 90's at the Elizabeth Moose (or whatever fraternal org is in Elizabeth that had all the bluegrass acts). That was the night Tony let Ricky Simpkins wail for a good ten minutes on Sally Goodin. I know this to be true because Mrs crusher (former state fiddle champion) timed it. At the Bishop's Bluegrass Festival in Orkney Springs VA circa mid-nineties, The TRU were playing I Am a Pilgrim and Wyatt got a nice solo in only to have his brother double time his two/three choruses with a maximum elan that brought down the house. The way it all ended for him was wretched but he never showed it. Rest in peace, Tony Rice.

He had 121 wins after the age of 40. Those knuckle ballers have some serious longevity.

Notorious British traitor George Blake dead at 98.

It's actually a pretty wild story.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/ ... es-aged-98
Blake was the last in a line of British spies to operate secretly for the Soviet Union, exposing the identities of hundreds of western agents across eastern Europe in the 1950s and humiliating the intelligence establishment when his work was discovered at the height of the cold war.

Some of the agents Blake exposed were executed as a result of his treason, making him one of the most notorious double agents of the era, alongside the ring of double agents known as the Cambridge Five.
