That’s why I said my team. They do the work. I shake my head in agreement and talk to the higher-ups.

meow’s team is responsible for many a Covid related items. State and Federal reporting. Predictive analytics. GIS analytics. Vaccine prioritization plan. Doesn’t lend itself to too many days off. Or avoiding stomach ulcers.

I’m off until 1/5. This break is very much needed.

I was hoping that it would be calm these last two weeks, but they were not. I was able to finish up what needed to be done before the end of the year, so there’s that. January is going to be bonkers.

Welp. My boss turned in his resignation, so now the entire team is worried about what happens to us. He’s leaving mostly because of our psychopath of a CTO, and I’m sure that she’ll want to replace him with some person she knows who isn’t qualified for the job, and a total NTP66.

If she were like me we wouldn’t have now lost two senior managers, a director, and three senior engineers in the last year - all because of her. But since her boss hired her, she doesn’t want to admit failure by firing her ass, so the ship keeps sinking.

My wife just bailed on a bad manager who has now lost about 1/3 of her staff since March. Bad look in a tight mortgage industry.

Today was wife’s and another co-workers last day. Promises were made in July so that they would stay and the weren’t kept, so they quit.

Good on them for getting out. Nobody blames my boss, and we’re all happy that he can finally lower his stress levels.

This is how my wife's boss keeps heading. She's not losing people yet, but her boss (the president) refuses to admit it was a mistake hiring her and get rid of her. My wife is more qualified than her but didn't meet the seniority requirement at the time.

Unfortunately the company is local, she's still paid well, my sister works there also, so she's just waiting for the hopes that the problem resolves itself.

I’m in a holding pattern, because if my current supervisor - who is the ideal candidate - is actually put into that role, I’ll continue doing what I’m doing. If they bring in somebody external, I’m gone.

As the newbie, I worked the last two weeks while my entire team was off. They definitely deserved the break when I really didn't so it's all good. Plus I don't mind working during what is normally a quiet week.

However, it ended up being an insane week with me running around putting out fires while they were all out. And now I'm sitting here waiting for them all the catch up on everything that happened. I'm in a holding pattern waiting for responses which probably won't come until end of day. Its kind of a shitty welcome back to the team overall

Glad to back to work remotely this morning. My kids were switched NYE to all virtual, which means Zooms all day long again. Of course, a few of the teachers didn't get links out early enough, so it got a little frantic this morning.

Already getting requests for stupid things, like assessing my course syllabus and meetings about staff satisfaction survey results from the Dean. I've already sprained my eyes from rolling back in my head this morning. Ugh.

First day back since the 17th. Hundreds of emails. Going to take a day or two just to dig through all of those.

These last two replies are exactly why I am not sending any messages today until people reach out to me. Not adding to the backlog they already have.

I've been off since 12/24 and don't go back in until tomorrow, in which I have a half-day upgrade scheduled. May not even look at my e-mail until Wednesday.
