I'd like to think that maybe that company will be better after Vince McMahon is dead, but the fact is it's gonna get taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family.
8-)

that might have been some of the corniest **** that I've ever seen this company produce, and that says a lot considering this company has produced some really corny ****. Knowing the way this company runs, they'll play it off like nothing ever happened (aka "tis but a scratch.")

Speaking of corny, I bet he's having a meltdown over it.

Believe it or not, this is the 2nd time Bray's been lit on fire by Orton in at least 2 weeks, sooooooo.

That was a fun watch. Thanks for sharing. The big blue cage is such an iconic image of 80s/early 90s WWF. I always forget that it was still around in 97 and into the Attitude Era.

This promo has always stuck with me and when I think about the big blue, I think about this:

You Cannot Kill David Arquette is on Hulu. It's pretty entertaining but I was expecting a legit documentary. It's clear right away that it's a "worked shoot." I think it comes from a real place with real emotion, but a lot of the situations are forced/staged/worked/whatever you want to call it. Once I accepted that it's a work, I switched up my expectations and enjoyed it.

I'm not sure if anyone watched, but AEW did a beautiful tribute show for Brodie Lee this week. I thought it was exceptionally well done, and it had a heartfelt feel to it that has largely disappeared in the corporate WWE.

In case you were wondering what WWE is up to in 2021, they're busy shoe-horning 54-year-old Goldberg into the world title picture.

Side note: Tatanka is the only "legend" who showed up in full gear. Carny til the end.

It's a shame fans won't be in attendance to boo that **** out of the building. WWE can pipe in cheers and Goldberg chants despite Drew being babyface and super over.

Everytime I see notes on what happened on Raw I'm glad I tuned out well over a year ago now.

I had it on in the background since there wasn't a MNF game and had forgotten about the WJC games until it was almost too late. There really weren't that many legends that showed up, or at least ones that were worth tuning in for a one-off appearance.

Tatanka, Boogeyman and Slaughter were there in full gear. IRS is basically an agent who worked backstage, so he was there semi-regularly and was even spotted in some shots. I know he was let go earlier this year, but I thought I read he was brought back. From what I remember, Mickie James and Alicia Fox aren't that far removed from in-ring competition. If I were to guess, both have been in the ring within the year. Same goes for Mark Henry and Big Show, although the former is officially retired and the latter is 99% retired. Booker T and Flair seem like they have semi-regular appearances.
And Goldberg? Why? ****ing why? I haven't watched his last few matches. I just don't care about him anymore. For that matter, I didn't care about him much before. But wasn't the thing about his matches was that he was unsafe and gassing after about 2 minutes? This is a perfect example of why this company can't create new stars. It'll be 2035 and they'll be trotting out 68 year old oldberg to challenge for the belt.

WWE is losing the young viewers to AEW. By "young" I mean 18-24 year olds. And what is their response? **** Bill Goldberg. His last real "active" year was 2003, when he finally made the jump to WWE after WCW's demise. He lasted one year. And the 18-24 year old demo was the 1-7 year old demo. Bringing in stars from 17 years ago to beat current wrestlers is an insane trend that WWE needs to kick. That'd be like if instead of HBK and Austin at WM14, Vince brought in Harley Race to beat HBK for the title.

Vince is so laughably out of touch. They need to make new stars, not just keep trotting out the greybeards...

They get people who could be stars, and then fail to use them or do so in a way that they can never possibly get over...

And how do they justify taking McAfee off the air when he is one of the few people actually worth seeing/hearing?

I don't think Vince wants to make new stars. The brand is the star and as long as that's the case, the company is not reliant on any one person.

Found this in my sidebar today. If you open the link in youtube, it's a bunch of old WWWF matches and promos from the Spectrum. My guess would be from 1975 to 1990.

As for the video that is embedded, the man under the mask working as the Golden Terror was The Duke of Dorchester, Pete Doherty.

Drew Mac now has the 'rona, so that match might not happen now. But at least they got Goldberg over for a segment.

I turned on RAW last night expecting... well, I'm not quite sure what. The last segment looked like a shitty B movie.

As usual, it's queued up to the moment where it just gets over the top corny.

Oh no, the lights are going out and it's getting dark. HHH looks concerned, like he has never seen such a thing. Now it's completely dark!
HHH's hammer is on fire?!? He's so confused! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!?!?
HHH is now gone and there's Alexa Bliss! Why is she there?
There's a fireball!
Now Randall is moaning for at least a minute from a shot of fire that wasn't even close to him.
End Scene

Couldn't they have made all of this Bray Wyatt Funhouse stuff into yet another direct to video movie and have been done with it?
