He shouldn’t be chasing tail like that.

“What happened was I got out of the shower. I got a dog and anybody who’s been around my house knows — dropped, little pup dropped a ball in front of me. And for me to grab the ball,” Biden told CNN journalist Jake Tapper in his first post-election joint interview with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

“And I’m walking through this little alleyway to get to the bedroom. And I grabbed the ball like this and he ran. And I’m joking, running after him and grab his tail. And what happened was that he slid on a throw rug. And I tripped on the rug he slid on. That’s what happened. Oh man, not a very exciting story.”
Seems as though the shower really had nothing to do with it. Not sure why that's even part of the story. He was "running" around with his dog. Grabbed his tail, the dog slid on a throw rug, and he tripped over the rug.

Like Biden said... not a very exciting story.

How much longer will republicans allow themselves to be controlled?

Both moderate losers, will negotiate with themselves and will definitely bite on every attack about being “soft” on something.

That's kind of premature.

Were you following the news during Carter's presidency?

Yeah but the Republicans have zero people of Reagan's stature.

Personally, more so than policy. And I wasn't alive for Carter's term.
You had the Iran hostages and oil crisis, but I literally can't think of anything else that happened in those four years.

Russia invaded Afghanistan, with the subsequent boycott of the Moscow Olympics by the US; pardoned Vietnam-era draft dodgers; SALT II; Dept of Education established; garnered 49 electoral votes in reelect, which is not very many.

Also, the failed Iran hostage rescue mission lead to the establishment of SEAL Team Six, and the ultimate reformation of the US special operations community in the structure we know today. So that's neat.

Rogue Warrior! He just turned 80 a couple of weeks ago. I think I told you I met him back in 2004 during my CG days. Even at 64 dude was intimidating as hell.

Yup, I remember you saying that. :thumb:

When UBL was tagged, there was a glut of documentaries on History Channel and NatGeo and whatnot about SEALs and spec ops and whatnot, and he was always on those, along with the same maybe half dozen operators (Ryan Zinke was one iirc). It was like "Today, on the new episode of 'Fireside Chats With Richard Marciko', we learn how SEAL Team 6 had a bigger live-fire ammunition budget than the entire United States Marine Corps".

Carter (and IMO, especially Cyrus Vance) deserve a lot of credit for that. It's a shame that Sadat was assassinated only a couple of years later. Makes you wonder how history would have been different, especially with the Muslim Brotherhood/Islamism on the rise since the Arab Spring (more aptly Arab Winter).

Always interesting to thing about those historical inflection points. You should listen to the blindspot podcast. There is an interesting line from that period to the WTC bombing to then 9/11
