Lol. My dad won't touch electricity either. It's literally 2 screws. Kill the breaker and go to town

Kill the breaker? Do you hike your skirt up when you do it? Be a man.

The only electric work I've ever done is changing the thermostat and I don't even think that counts.Lol. My dad won't touch electricity either. It's literally 2 screws. Kill the breaker and go to town
It's not the work itself that scares me, it's envisioning the arcing behind the wall I can't see because I did it incorrectly

The past 3 weeks I’ve spent running conduit from the breaker panel in my garage to my back patio for a spot light for the back yard. Eventually I’ll branch off and run wire underground to my shed.
Pulling the wire was the toughest part. Thought I could do it without fish tape but I was wrong.
Final task is putting the new breaker in the panel. That one has me a bit nervous

Just power down your panel and don’t grab both cables coming into the box at the same time, lol. It’s not bad so long as you’re not a sloppy mess.

Yeah I did my first breaker in the summer for a dedicated 30 amp outlet for my brother's new camper. It's not tough at all. The toughest part was I forgot to put the crimp collar on the wire before I fished it through the panel.

I’ve worked with medium voltage before but electricity still scares me. Those two mains coming in just stare at me with their devil eyes.
Luckily I don’t have to worry about the crimp because I’m going right from the box into conduit.

I've replaced plenty of light switches and outlets and rewired multiple lamps. It's not complicated or difficult. Just about every home-improvement store has a bookshelf of guide books; just pick up the one for electric work.

Nah. I’ll pay for electric and plumbing every time, especially since I have both a plumber and electrician that I trust and know that neither would overcharge. Those are two things I let the pros handle.

Greensburg is getting a Menards. It's going above Best Buy where that Sheraton/Ramada used to be. I have never, ever set foot near that hotel and never understood why it was there.
Menards is awesome, it was my go to when I lived in Wisconsin.

I’ve only ever been to one - in Kansas - and I thought it was pretty nice. It was like a cross between Home Depot, Sam’s Club, and a farmer’s market.

Yeah, the combination of things you can get is pretty bizarre sometimes. Chest freezer, a pallet of jeans, and a crate of candy? Got u fam.

I went to a wedding at that hotel. Seemed pretty nice if I remember correctly. I got pretty slammed rocking out to an 80s cover band in the hotel bar after the reception.Greensburg is getting a Menards. It's going above Best Buy where that Sheraton/Ramada used to be. Yeah, a former employee said it was the largest ballroom between Pittsburgh and Seven Springs. Whatever will we do without it ...

I put these in the Randomness thread because of the discussion about Christmas lights, but I feel I posted my Halloween Decorations here, so might as well throw up the Christmas lights.

If I hook everything to this and then plug it in to my outlet, is that too much?I can't find the exact one I have, but I also use a digital timer for all of my outdoor decorations, similar to this:
I have maybe 3000 lights between everything, plus one inflatable. Right now I have two 3-way extension cords that everything connects to. Can I plug those 2 extension cords into this and be done?

Sounds like a bigger version of the late and much-missed Trader Horn. TH carried hardware, furniture, pet supplies, sporting goods, gardening, housewares, some basic foodstuffs, and all sorts of other stuff. You could buy a new toilet, a bag of dog food, a fishing rod, a roasting pan, a finish-it-yourself chest of drawers, and jars of pickles and jelly. I miss those stores. They were the real-life incarnation of Food and Stuff from Parks and Recreation.Yeah, the combination of things you can get is pretty bizarre sometimes.
