Americans Working From Home Face Internet Usage Limits

The coronavirus pandemic led millions of Americans to turn their homes into offices and classrooms. It also forced many to change their habits to keep their internet bills in check.

Shea Dunn, a data-process analyst for Target Corp. who has been working from his Minneapolis home since March, said he never had to think about his household’s internet consumption. That changed in early July, when he got a notice from his broadband provider, Comcast Corp. CMCSA -0.11% , informing him he was using too much data and was liable for a $50 fee if he kept exceeding his cap.
Bandwidth caps, another money grab by these NTP66s. **** Comcast, AT&T, and Cox especially.

Some people don't enjoy being associated with a jagoff.

Some people don't enjoy being associated with a jagoff.
I'm sure he's the only jagoff Random House publishes.

I don't care for Peterson, find him a charlatan largely.

It's the unhinged reaction to him that is odd.

Lots of publishers sell books by folks I am sure most of the employees do not care for.

Jordan Peterson sucks wangs...but if you're looking to only work for and/or contribute to an entity that represents your interests exclusively with representatives that do the same, you're gonna be very poor and without a ton of cool stuff...

Vote with feet, vote with your wallet...

Sitting around crying about it and thinking that you have the right to stifle views that you don't agree with is toxic, childish behavior...

It's private sector stuff, and Canada to boot. Two cultures I couldn't speak to enough to know if openly weeping is an acceptable norm.

Generally businesses like money and will put that ahead of most anything. Seems the shot callers knew they were being jags, hence why they hid it.

I'm not convinced they knew they were "being jags" as much as I'm convinced that they were doing something that is considered controversial in this climate/wave...I think the difference is noteworthy. I don't find this to be an underhanded business move...the notion that it needed to be done in any sort of secret way is a little troubling for *dun dun* both sides in my view...

The folks that decided to have their pity party published likely increased the sales of the book, which will serve to justify this decision and the next one in all likelihood...

Company you work for makes money from broadcasting something you don't approve and it makes you feel slimy: walk out. If enough of your co-workers have that opinion, you can preemptively force the brass to call a meeting to address it. If it isn't addressed properly, the brass risks losing a portion of the workforce, or at least lowering morale.
It's the free market dodint.

https://nypost.com/2020/11/24/americas- ... iddle-east

My friend is married to an Armenian woman--it's a sad state of affairs over there.
The full meaning of the recent war in the Caucasus was captured in a sad video of Armenians gathered outside an old mountain church to sing one last hymn before going into exile. This small Christian nation’s humiliation at the hands of Azerbaijan and Turkey, two American allies, reveals the limits of US power and the need for a new strategy to aid Mideast Christians.

Once a majority, Christians find themselves stranded on shrinking demographic islands in Muslim-majority states that can’t, and sometimes won’t, protect them. The old advocacy model, the Western crusade, is obsolete and was never very effective anyway. Our new model — human-rights lobbying — is even less successful.
The time has come to shift our focus from state power to private investment, linking Christian businessmen in the West with those in the Middle East to open companies, develop properties and transport local products to market. This was the survival strategy of the early church, whose members pooled their wealth for the benefit of all. It demands more creativity and determination than today’s model, but it promises more dignified and permanent results.

A peaceful economic crusade will prioritize Christian communities that have critical mass and favorable conditions for investment. Here, the significance of Armenia becomes obvious. Not only does Armenia rank high on the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business index, it also boasts an emerging high-tech sector and inexpensive yet skilled labor.

The general area where I live - west Valley - is dense with Armenian-Americans, and for the last several months I have not left the house without seeing multiple cars flying Armenian flags. It's normal to see them in April around the time of remembrance day, but it has been a constant feature since summer.

Also:
It is worth noting that President Trump has done more for religious minorities than any president in history.
A. Ham would be proud of his newspaper's legacy. lol

I've never cared for him as an actor. I find his work boring. His best role was Hard Candy IMO.
