I'm watching wrestling for the first time in maybe 15 years (save a match here and there) and GD I think I'm hooked enough on this scary clown dude story to keep watching. I'm assuming Orton and this guy are going to be a storyline moving forward. Have they been already?

By the way, the Undertaker had a special on Cameo where he did 30 personalized messages (aka he charged poor saps $1k for a 30 second video). Here's my favorite from Bryan Alvarez to his Grandmother:

$1000?!? I saw a few on twitter, but I didn't realize it was a grand to get 30 seconds of his time. Wow.
I thought i read somewhere he was doing those backstage at Survivor Series.

Yep. And since it's Taker and was filmed at a WWE show, I'm guessing WWE is taking a cut. Which explains how they could allow this to happen while also shutting down everybody else's ****.
They made $30k in probably an hour or two.

so how long before Vince starts pimping out the entire roster on Cameo?
Better yet, how long before he decides to create his own service?

Along with Vince, the driving force behind WWF growing into a global phenomenon. I am going to watch some clips of the "Stooges" today.

There was another board that I was on years ago where somebody jokingly called him a "fake ass IC champ" in reference to the tournament that was never held in South America. Some poster, one that seemed to be very knowledgeable with a lot of the earlier wrestling from the 70s and some stuff in the 60s, actually took offense to it and started coming to the defense of Patterson and started rattling off title defenses. We thought it was a joke at first, but dude was in full "it's still real to me" mode in the sense that this tournament was real despite the other 99.9% of the planet knowing that it wasn't.
So any time there was a Patterson comment - which considering this would have been early to mid 2000s there were more than you'd expect - people would always follow up with a comment about fake champion or a comment about Rio or South America just to get him going.

It's funny watching the internet mark the **** out over AEW bringing in Sting. These are the same people that dodint about WWE featuring part-timers and nostalgia acts. Sting is **** 61 years old and he comes in to go face to face with 62-year-old Arn Anderson.

Yeah I heard about Sting last night. Is he out of money? Can he even bump at this point? I don't understand it really. If he does actually wrestle he will be a shell of what he used to be at best.

internet marks buying up that AEW Sting merch. It supposedly set a record for tees sold in 24 hrs.

My only issue with this article is that there's no mention of what the record is. For all we know, they could have sold 12 shirts last night.

I think they'll protect him by having him in a six man tag and leave him on the outside until the finish.Yeah I heard about Sting last night. Is he out of money? Can he even bump at this point? Stinger splash x2, scorpion death lock, match over, everybody goes home happy.
But as for why they brought him back, I have no idea.

The Kenny Omega appearance on Impact was interesting.
Don't worry, I'm not forcing you to watch a full Impact show. It's queued up to the segment.

WWF used to do cool joint-promotional stuff like this when they weren't the number one promotion. WWF on TBS is probably the most famous time, but they also did stuff with AAA and NWA in the 90s which was kind of neat. Actually, they've done it recently too with Evolve, Progress, and NJPW, though that mostly centers around NXT.

This past Monday was the worst ratings performance in Raw history. More alarming for WWE, AEW Dynamite actually won the crucial 18-49 demo against NXT, although they suffered their own drop-off.

I believe Dynamite almost always beats NXT, except for when NXT does something special like Halloween Havoc.
I thought the big deal was that the prior week's Dynamite actually beat Raw in the demo, which is kind of nuts.
I don't watch much current wrestling live these days, but I do watch highlights and such, so I have a general idea of the storylines...
What they are doing with Roman Reigns now is pretty great... but that is on Smackdown. What exactly are they doing on Raw that is worth watching? Drew Mcintyre and?
On the WWE side, I would say only 3 things interest me atm... Reigns, McIntyre, and anything Pat McAfee is involved in. Occasionally something else interesting may happen but overall... meh.
Sascha and Bayley was great, but that is already over (and once again, was on Smackdown).
Wrestling aside, the biggest thing that I dislike about the WWE is the announcers. Michael Cole and his army of clones are simply insufferable. They all speak to you like you are a child and do not even remotely sound like human beings half the time because nobody talks the way they do. I'm sure it's all what Vince wants to hear, but it's rough.
I'm also sure that it was pure coincidence that they started an angle where Lana got put through a table 8 out of 9 weeks right after her husband debuted in AEW and cut a promo on Vince. Total coincidence.

Yes. Like a lot of things today Michae Cole has no character in his voice and sound like he was created in a lab to be boring.
I'm not asking for Lawler/Ross clones. Just someone who understands the flow of matches and isn't a chore to hear.

Listen to the call by Michael Cole from when Mick Foley won his first title. Like listening to a totally different person. Don't blame him, blame Vince. Wrestlers used to be able to improvise, come up with their own promos, etc. EVERYTHING is controlled now.
