Even worse is the details of the MiLB restructure is being quietly released.

Tons of long-standing minor league teams are dead.
I'm conflicted on this. I love MiLB and going to minor league games is something every american should experience and have close by. But logistically, in the sense of necessity of player development and getting to the majors, there are too many teams. You don't really need rookie ball, short season A, A, High A.. I forget which player it was said it but really at any level you're at, there's only a handful of guys that are gonna make it to the show
My cousin is in the Rockies system so that restructure is definitely on my radar screen.

One side of this is a lot of minor league players will lose their jobs.

I've helped coach probably ten kids in the lower levels. 5 are legit prospects and would be fine and 5 would be out of baseball most likely. It sucks

Somehow I forgot that Larussa is back in the league. At age 76.

Interesting. My buddy is moving back to the Marlins. I’ll fish for information.

He ought to see if Mike Trout or George Haddock are available.

Looks like West Virginia will have zero minor league baseball teams next year.

West Virginia Power quietly announced to season ticket holders that they are not one of the teams that will have a place in the reorganization of minor league baseball.

Oh man. Back to where he started. Wonder if he’ll complete the cycle and sign with the Pirates for the 2022 season and end his career with a whimper. It’ll be the sixth season of his post-Pirates redemption tour, which will have made him $68mm.

I am sure this is true for most teams.
